- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father's first job in his Army career was as a photographer, so I grew up around 4x5 press cameras and flash bulbs. I got my first camera at age 8 - a Brownie camera which used roll film. I got my first 35mm camera about age14 - a Canon FTb. In my high school years I used to take photos at summer basketball league games, develop the film (Tri-X pushed to ASA 1600) and print 8x10 blowups on the weekend, and then sell them to the players and their families. I was also the president of our high school photo club. I took my first wedding photos in 1975 during the summer of my sophmore year of college. My aunt had a flower shop and arranged weddings, and took the photos with my Canon FTb and with a Yashica Twin-lens. I have taken photos jobs on the side during my entire professional career. When my wife and I left Michigan and moved south, I decided to follow my dreams and work with the photography full time.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
We photograph weddings, reunions, family portraits, funerals, celebrations, press conferences, sports, community events, fundraisers, corporate training, real estate marketing, church events, graduations, promotions, insurance inventory, and more! Serving Georgetown, Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Georgetown County, Horry County - will travel anywhere in North Carolina and South Carolina.
