Steven is awesome and gave me wonderful advice for my dog Sophie. He is extremely knowlegable and professional. I would recommend him to anyone for their dog training needs! Thank you so much Steven!Feb 12, 2020Verified
Steven did a great job with our dog Kash. Within the first 2 hours he spent with Kash, he had already improved. We decided to send Kash for a week of training with Stephen. He came all the way to our home to pick him up and returned him and new and improved dog! He is very kind and gentle with dogs, but firm and a great teacher. A couple weeks later, we had a few issues with Kash and Stephen came to our home (an 80 mile drive) for a refresher at ni charge. We would highly recommend Stephen to help train your fur baby!Nov 23, 2019Verified
Steven listened to our concerns about our two dogs, offerred his observations, and together my wife, I, and Steven developed a training plan to meet our objectives. We look forward to continuing to work with Steven on our dogs' obedience training.Dec 11, 2019Verified
Stephen is the best dog trainer I’ve had, and I’ve tried many! He’s effective in getting the dogs to do what they should do. I’m still a work in progress, but he’s helping me, too!Sep 7, 2019
Steven spent time with my dog in a variety of settings. He stressed a few essentials that I was lacking in my day to day life with my dog. Such as getting my dog to look at me for approval before she did anything. Huge! Also, making her wait 5-20 seconds before she can eat her food. Huge! She has to seek my approval, which hopefully will transfer with all other behaviors.Sep 21, 2019Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I like to talk to my customers to see what specifically they need. Through doing this I can figure out what the best option for them would be for their dog. What they think may require a $1950 board and train could only require a shortened board and train for $675 or a few $100 dollar in home sessions. Whatever the need I try to accommodate budget and time. Also after I work with an owner and their dog they’re welcome to call any time for advice or ask questions free of charge.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I always like to talk with or do a meet and greet with any new customers. This allows me to get to more about them, their dog, their environment and what services they’re specifically looking for. It also gives me an opportunity to let them and their dog to get to know me.
- How did you get started doing this type of work? When I got my first dog I wanted to be able to train it so he would have good house manners. I started to learn about dogs and why they do the things they do. Wether they’re good things or bad things. All along as I studied, talked with and worked with other reputable trainers I was implementing what I learned, in training my own dog. Before I knew it I was able to know what my dog was asking of me or telling me and I was able to communicate back. Since then my pack has grown from 1 to 5 dogs. As I worked with and trained all my dogs it wasn’t long before people I knew that had dogs were asking for my advice. So I began working with them and their dogs and showing them how to recognize what their dogs are communicating to them and how to communicate back. Wether it was basic training, advanced training or aggression rehabilitation/behavior modification. I was able to help them achieve what they needed. What started out as an interest has grown into my passion.
