- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up in a family of seven surrounded by the poverty, drugs and gangs of Chicago’s inner city. Even though my father worked everyday there still wasn't enough money. I made a point of regularly telling my stay-at-home mom, “You need to get a job and work like other women!” I didn't respect my mom’s antiqued ways of “honoring” my father, who wanted her to stay at home and be a housewife. Fast forward– And today I am a stay home mom of 5. I’ve upped the ante by becoming an entrepreneur and homeschooling. I coach women & speak all over the country as a women’s empowerment speaker and encourage them to Raise Your Own Children and Run Your Own Business™. - What types of customers have you worked with?
As a coach I work with moms; some have full-time jobs, some are home and some have already started their entrepreneurial journey. One thing they all have in common-lack of focus, direction, implementation or accountability. I help them get clear, focused and strategic. As a speaker I work with churches and small businesses who not only want motivation for their team but they also want some specific changes in their productivity and work relationships. For ME coaching and speaking isn't about pumping people up. I am a TRAINER. That means that I give specific steps, how-to strategies and examples so that people can SEE themselves making a change. THAT is what pumps them up! From there they are able to make immediate changes in their behaviors.
