In the summer of 2016, life punched me straight in the gut more than once. Regarding health, my blood sugar (type 2 diabetic) and pressure were both too high (medication required to manage). I had been pretty much just letting life happen to me for the past 10 years. Working too much and workout too little (not at all). I realized, I could either be a victim of circumstance and come up with excuses for continuing not to take care of myself or I could decide to be accountable and make changes. In August 2016, I started and ended my search for a trainer. I selected Jeremy simply because I like to know the science or why behind things. His background in bio-mechanics, nutrition and experience coaching basically sealed the deal. Some of the other trainers just seemed repeat buzzwords or I just didn’t click with their approach. Did I see improvement working with Jeremy? Is it worth the time and cost to hire the right trainer? I’ll give you the raw data and let you decide for yourself. Then (August 2016), 304 lbs., my A1C was around 7.5, placed on blood pressure and blood sugar medications. Now (May 2017), 207 lbs., A1C 5.2 (no longer in diabetic range), all medication doses cut in half. 264 days or almost 9 months of exercise and nutritional eating (not dieting) to lose almost 100 lbs., increase strength and increase endurance. All of which has dramatically improved my health which cascaded to improving my life in almost all areas. Recommendation for getting on track: 1st – Know your “Why”, because it will be something to hold on to when you begin to lose motivation. 2nd – “Just show up", it's the hard part because its all mental. Your mind comes up with reasons on why you can’t “today”), but your body can do the workouts.
Eli is the best trainer! I've tried to belong to gyms and tried crossfit before, they have nothing on one hour with this guy. He is self-motivated, ethusiastic, and professional. Truly cares about you and your progress. I have seen results and seen results on other clients!
I have worked out with other trainers in the past but have never gotten the experience I've had with Kris. Kris had completed changed my life! She has become my friend and confidant. She loves seeing me set new personal bests. If I am traveling for work, kris checks in on me and actually gives me "homework" to do while I am away. I need that motivation or I would not do anything. I actually look forward to not only my workouts with kris, but any kind of workout I can fit in. She has taught me that working out can be fun and not a duty. I would highly recommend Kris and I thank her for completely changing my entire life!
Irving is a pro at making the workout not boring. His private gym is perfect. Tons of free parking and it is so close to down town. Great mix of cardio and weight training. Always positive and upbeat.
Mark is a fantastic personal trainer. He keeps you motivated and helps you want to reach your goal. His meal plans and personalized workouts really help for when you can't be in the gym. I would highly suggest mark if you're looking for a trainer.
