Dr. Kevin Schell's Tutoring Service

I have enjoyed a professional career as a chemist. I also have a passion for teaching and working with students to promote their continued learning. I can tutor Prealgebra, Algebra I and Algebra II, as well as General freshman Chemistry. I have a BS in Chemistry and a PhD in Polymer Science. Throughout college, I was a very disciplined student and earned top academic marks. I graduated Summa Cum Laude and have excellent people skills. I can relate to the problems students face and had excellent teachers as role models. I am very patient with student needs and can pick up from each student's personal level of knowedge and experience. I use the Socratic method of teaching by using questions to lead the student in problem solving as well as engage the student by filling in the concept material when needed. It brings me great joy in helping others learn new subjects and become more proficient in their personal studies. Watching others improve their understanding of the unfamiliar subject matter, seeing their "Ah ha!" moments and improving their grades is a wonderful reward. I also just personally love to meet new people, share new experiences and generally have fun while growing in knowledge.
