Chris has been teaching our 9 year old son drums for approximately 3 months and the experience has been wonderful. He is moving at steady pace and we see new skills acquired on a weekly basis. He has developed a love of learning music and really enjoys working with Chris. Chris creates a relaxed environment and is great at explaining concepts in a way that a young person can understand. In addition to that, Chris is good about responding to emails, which is always appreciated from a parent's perspective. I could only choose three items above so I chose Work Quality, Responsiveness and Value, but I'd have chosen Professionalism and Punctuality as well if I was allowed. We really like working with Chris and look forward to seeing our son continue to develop as we continue our lessons.Jul 16, 2020Drum Lessons with Chris Broomhead's reply
Thanks Rob. Really great that his love of learning is stimulated, and that clear communication of concepts is helpful!
I recently signed up for drum lessons with Chris and am rapt with the tuition he provides. Super talented and on top of his craft, Chris is professional, reliable, creative and able to teach based on my needs. He provides constructive feedback while ensuring lessons are dynamic and interactive. I’ve had both in-person and virtual lessons, and both have worked great. He is flexible with his schedule and easy to work with!Mar 31, 2020Drum Lessons with Chris Broomhead's reply

Thank you Jasmine!
Chris has been an excellent drum instructor for my son. He has gained knowledge of beats and rhythms that I didnt not expect him to pick up so quickly as a beginner. Chris has been very patient and a great help with my son’s musical education.May 13, 2020Drum Lessons with Chris Broomhead's reply
Thanks Natashia. Mychael has been great fun to teach and he really enjoys playing!
Chris is an amazing and gifted teacher. He has taught two of my children for a number of years, and not only has their progress been excellent, they found Chris easy to relate to, relaxed and completely professional. I cannot recommend him highly enough May Gavin, Melbourne, AustraliaApr 1, 2020Drum Lessons with Chris Broomhead's reply
Thanks so much for the kind words, May. I'm glad both Ricky and Isabel enjoyed their drum lessons and were able to further their skills on the instrument!
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Lessons are $25 per half-hour/$50 per hour. By way of a brief lessons policy: 1. Lessons are billed monthly at the beginning of the month, taking into account the number of anticipated lessons and/or absences. I accept cash, check, PayPal or Venmo; 2. All efforts will be made to reschedule missed lessons where I have been given 24 hours notice. Lessons missed due to no-shows will not be made up or credited; 3. Lessons missed due to illness will be made up; 4. Lessons that are missed due to my absence will either be rescheduled or credited; 5. Students are required to purchase a pair of drumsticks, and during the first lesson they will receive a folder containing drum music.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Generally I try to ascertain what the potential student is looking to achieve on the instrument, and then together we negotiate a suitable time and format for the lessons.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?As mentioned in my bio above, I studied extensively in Australia. After graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in Melbourne, Australia having completed the Honours year program I went on to complete the Graduate Diploma of Education at the University of Melbourne and a Masters of Arts (Music Performance) at Monash University. As a teacher I taught for over fourteen years at numerous Australian schools and education institutions including Box Hill Institute of TAFE, Melbourne Rudolf Steiner School and Donvale Christian College, and I am currently teaching drums at Ezell-Harding Christian School in Antioch. As a professional player I have gained considerable experience playing in many different venues around Australia with a diverse range of artists as well as composing, recording and producing original music.
