I studied with Ashleigh in my second year of graduate school, and the educational experience was exceptional. She was a great instructor with a knack for simplifying difficult concepts, and relating them to me in an easily understandable manner. She played a major role in enabling me to successfully learn statistics and probability. I have even put these new skills to use in my current position. I highly recommend Ashleigh as a tutor who does an outstanding job of teaching students.
I must say I am extremely impressed with the quality of service from the first phone call through the tutoring sessions.
I have recently worked with Anna to improve my GRE scores. She was absolutely amazing and understanding. I am dyslexic, and she really went out of her way to find the best way to explain and help me memorize the material. She examined my weaknesses and strengths and provided a wide range of material to help me reach my goal. In addition, she made herself available for any questions I had, even outside of class session. This demonstrated to me genuine care about her student’s success. I will be looking forward to working with her in the future, during my graduate school program.
Kim did a fantastic job with our daughter. She said Kim helped her feel comfortable. She made math really easy to understand and helped her learn more about math than her teachers at school. Kim did a great job getting her ready for the ACT. Couldn't be happier and would work with her in the future if the need arises again.
Mary Ann tutored my young daughter who really struggled with school and maintaining proper focus to complete her schoolwork. Mary Ann was so warm and welcoming towards my daughter along with exhibiting a lot of patience and willingness to help her learn. My daughter always enjoyed spending time with her and actually looked forward to their sessions. I was impressed with how she worked closely with my daughter's teachers and school. She actually made the effort to attend school meetings with me. We had an outstanding experience with Mary Ann, and it is now exciting to see my daughter want to work on her math and reading homework!
I have been interested in learning to play guitar for a long time. My son who is going to be a senior was also interested in picking up the bass guitar in order to take a Rock Band class in school. Being a busy mom, I needed someone who could come to our house as well as be flexible with scheduling lessons. Lonny does both of these and is very reasonable with his fee. My son and I both have played piano and 1 other instrument each so that rhythm and reading notes came easier for us. But Lonny took me pretty far in the first couple of lessons that I was able to play notes on all 6 strings and therefore beautiful classical guitar songs with notes and chords in the treble and bass clefs. He is currently working with my son on syncopation. I'm confident that he has listened to my son's goals and will have him ready to be comfortable playing in Rock Band once school starts.
I have been with Nashville Learning Center for three years now. I give it 10 stars. Five is not enough. My daughter was in 3rd grade and struggling bad. Laticha meet with her twice a week. She was patient with her and gave homework and even showed me and my husband how to help our daughter. Now our daughter just finish 5th grade and made the honor roll all school year. Laticha is the best and I don't know what we would do without her help. Thanks, Nakishia Fouse
Alex is a terrific tutor. At our first meeting, he took the time to see what our son Connor was working on in his Math class and gained an understanding of where he was struggling. They meet every week and Alex helps Connor with concepts he didn't fully grasp in school. Connor is more confident when he works on his homework and when he takes quizzes and tests. On his last test, he received a perfect score. We would highly recommend Alex to any parent who has a child struggling in Math. Stuart and Karen
Had our first lesson with him and it was great so far, looking forward to more.
Sam was incredibly helpful. Our daughter needed some extra time with algebra work outside the classroom. And while we were a little skeptical finding someone not through the school, glad that we decided to go for it.
The way it was taught to me.

I am passionate to teach language and culture, and I try hard to make fun and pleasant lessons. Grammar is essential, but we can do it smoothly by using conversation, news and some exercises too.

I have seven years of experience with instruction of all aspects of English language arts, Latin and writing composition. In teaching, I focus on the key elements of language and composition. These include the significance of contextual evidence, literary/rhetorical device usage, the patterns consistent throughout all languages, interpretation and comprehension of literature and perfecting the stages of the writing process. I particularly emphasize skillful word usage and sentence variation in any written work as well as in rhetoric. In order to teach language structure, I teach the vital critical thinking skills necessary to analyze and interpret languages. Those invaluable problem-solving skills extend far beyond learning the grammar and vocabulary of any language. They reach across the academic curriculum and into the professional world. Guided by my instruction, students reach their academic goals and surpass their own expectations. My primary tutoring subjects are the following: * Latin (grammar, translation, interpretation and composition) * English Language Arts * Composition * Grammar * Proofreading and Editing * Writing Skills * Literature * Study Skills/Organizational Planning
I find that if you really love what you do then the quality will speak for itself. I found that I was terrible at waiting tables because I lacked passion for it. So I had to ask myself what is that I love doing? I love learning French and I love playing my guitar. So I set up a business around these two loves of my life. I love watching people as they learn that it is possible to learn a second language or play along their favorite songs on guitar.
I am a Belmont University music school graduate. I majored in vocal performance. I can also help with guitar, theory and beginner piano. I am also very active and in to fitness. If you clicked on me for that, we can talk about what you need and how I can help.
I strive to help students develop exceptional study skills, in addition to increasing their knowledge. I have been working as a tutor for 6 years. I specialize in ACT/SAT test prep, essay writing, English remediation, and homework help. I received my Master's degree in teaching in 2012. I have worked as an English teacher at TN Tech University and The University of Memphis. I love working with ACT students- most of my students are able to improve their English and Reading scores by 3-6 points.
I help my students by teaching them what they enjoy learning. Whether in the field of music or school subjects, such as reading, writing or math, my students receive a full and comprehensive curriculum.
Many teachers seem to make singing a complicated and sophisticated thing. I believe that our bodies are built to sing and project the voice, and that there could be nothing more basic to us than making what I call "singing sounds." The first thing a baby does when he or she is born is to take a big deep breath and cry - that's a singing sound! We then spend the next 18 years being told to "be quiet"... we have to get back to that basic singing sound that we do involuntarily. My teaching focuses on the many things that affect how we breathe - how we take in the air and how we let it out again. My teaching focuses on listening to the body and letting it speak for itself.
