- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I make pepper jelly. After being laid off two years ago due to company downsizing and being sold, I decided to follow my dream to have my own company and create my own financial future. I then expanded into making my creative ideas a reality and realized that i could make other people happy in the process.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Contact multiple individuals to get quotes. Question their interests...are they in the business for themselves or for the customers happiness and satisfaction. Are they aggressive in you using their ideas or do you have the freedom to make what you want come to life?
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Previously, I was a home health and hospice liaison. I had the freedom to develop original marketing material, set up presentations and conduct luncheons at my own discretion. I made home made food instead of catering, used my own decorations and the marketing materials that were originated by me were used company wide. I received referrals because of my caring personality and creativity. I take pride in that.
