FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Back in 2003, after graduating high schools, I embarked on my decorative Concrete journey by joining a company called CTI. This was a franchise out of Florida specializing in a wide variety of decorative concrete services. Our expertise lied in transforming indoor and outdoor concrete surfaces using innovative techniques such as applying concrete overlay systems to old and cracked concrete surfaces using fiberglass tape and stencils to replicate the look of natural stone, brick, or tile. We would apply these techniques to pool decks, patios, driveways, as well as indoor residential and commercial properties. By 2004/05, I made the decision to break away and establish my own decorative concrete business, Peacher’s Concrete Creations. I got my inspiration for the idea after being invitated to the prestigious World of Concrete Show in Las Vegas. It was there that I was about to learn a variety of new skills in the decorative concrete industry. I was able to obtain certifications in Acid Staining, Metallica Epoxy Finishes, Faux Concrete Finishes, Concrete Countertops, and self-leveling overlay systems. Upon my return to Memphis, I wasted no time in promoting these newly learned services under my own business. Through countless growing pains, setbacks, learning curves and an unimaginable amount of hard work, I am proud to say that my company has thrived for the past two decades, while also achieving and maintaining an A+ Better Business Bureau rating.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We were recently contacted by a residential homeowner through a customer referral to remove a thick epoxy coating from a spacious 2-car garage, followed by applying a decorative flake using a 100% UV protected, 2 part Polyaspartic coating. The removal process consisted of using a Lavina 20GE walk behind grinding with a dustless HEPA Vacuum attached. After removing the preexisting epoxy coating, we applied a beige colores polyaspartic base coat, followed by a broadcasting a beautiful colored flake (Shoreline). Once the coating had properly cured, we lightly scraped then vacuumed up any excess flakes. In conclusion, after ensuring that all walls, trim, baseboards, and brick steps were spotless, we meticulously applied a final Polyaspartic topcoat. The entire process was completed within a single 8 hour workday. The customers were thrilled with the results. The customers were asked to wait 24 hours before walking, and 48 hours before driving/parking. We provided the customers with a Lifetime Warranty on their new floor coating. This is offered on all of our Polyaspartic Floor Coatings.
