Introduction: I’m an experienced, seasoned, dynamic educator of 25 years. I recently moved down from NYC where I was a busy well-known drum teacher, and ensemble coach, enjoying having both celebrity students and write ups in magazines and newspapers. I focus on developing a high level of competence with solid foundation so that beginners through advanced players can quickly develop their drum set skills—whatever the needs may be. Even if youve never played drums, It’s my ultimate mission to make it possible for you to ‘sit in’ on a drum set with other musicians and be competent enough to be “the drummer” with others at your level and especially above!

Drum Lessons (for adults)

Been taking lessons with Tad for about 2 months, so far very satisfied with the classes. Tad is very technique oriented, and his lessons are very thorough. From reading, to snare practice, and full drum set. He also makes sure I have enough exercise to practice at home. Looking to make more progress in the near future :-)
Drum Lessons & Practice with a patient pro's reply
This student really has a talent and aptitude for technical things particularly things that are physical that require learning movements as part of the physical technique. She's tearing through the material at an impressive pace!

Drum Lessons (for adults)

I've been having class with Tad for two months and he is a very professional drummer and wonderful teacher. 60 minutes lesson goes very fast every time with appropriate amount knowledge and practice. I am really satisfied with my drum teacher and new friend, thank you Tad.

Felix is VERY talented. I'm teaching him traditional grip, and as a beginner, this is no easy feat. He is already playing a closed double-stroke roll--after about a month!! This kid must've been a drummer in a past life or something... Really nice guy too--a pleasure to teach. :-)

Drum Lessons

Tad is someone who teaches it the way it should be taught. I went in to my first lesson with bad habits and a slight chip on my shoulder assuming I'd had the basics down and quickly learned that my habits were going to hold me back. Don't walk in expecting him to get you behind a kit banging on drums with poor fundamentals because his strength is ensuring your foundation is solid before he builds on it, starting with the grip and moving on up. I'd highly recommend Tad for every level from beginner to those of you who think you may have it nailed down. He's been doing this the correct way for a long time.

Drum Lessons

Tad's been absolutely great! He really drills in the fundamentals and drumstick grip, which has been making a world of a difference as I've been progressing in lessons. Tad's also super responsive when conflicts come up or if I need to reschedule, which I really appreciate in an instructor.

Drum Lessons

Tad is the best. Very technical drummer will work with you step by step to build a solid foundation and then start moving in more complicated things. Pays special attention to all important details and corrects you on the spot. Very good in communication and very fun class too. His set is also high quality which is hard to find out there. You will get to enjoy learning drums by a serious professional. Highly recommended!!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Lessons: $60/hr, (shorter lessons negotiated).

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Assess in the first lesson, establish and outline my methods, and give an overview for the coming weeks and what to expect. The very first thing I do is send everyone a 'Welcome Email' detailing what you need to bring to your first lesson (very important) and where to get it.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I studied with a world-renowned teacher at Drummer's Collective while still in high school, and that relationship progressed into mentorship that enabled me to do professional gigs as a teen. I also attended Berklee College of Music's summer Session as a sophomore in H.S. I attended University of The Arts in Philadelphia and then transferred to the prestigious Manhattan School of Music (formerly Julliard) as a junior.
