I had some demo work that needed done: an old three-car "shed" that was probably built in the 50's and was situated in the back corner of our property. Bill visited the site before giving a quote on the job -- I was surprised that a few people who contacted me through Thumbtack gave quotes before actually seeing the structure. The quote was very reasonable -- it wasn't the lowest, or the highest, but speaking to Bill about the project I knew that he had a clear picture of what the job entailed. Bill and his helper, Sam, were able to begin the demo within a couple of days. Some extreme weather conditions slowed progress somewhat, but they finished the job within a reasonable amount of time. I'm very pleased that we were hired Bill/Nucleus Interiors for this project, and would certainly hire them again!Jan 26, 2015Verified

Bill Godfrey was hired to replace existing flooring with Trek flooring on a large outside deck. Bill approached the project with great competence and skill. Having been recommended by a custom contractor, Bill came with lots of experience. Bill was very reliable and his quality of work was excellent. We also had him fix some plumbing problems. Our experience with Bill was so good that we have other projects lined up for him to start soon!Apr 22, 2015
I have used Bill for many projects around my house. Gutter cleaning, pressure washing, crawl space framing repair, foundation vent installation, and door installation to name a few. He's seems to be a jack of all trades. I know I can depend on him to do the job right. I highly recommend!Apr 20, 2015

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Generally, our base rate is $30 per hour, but we prefer to quote by the job when practical.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I generally give the customer the option of providing their own materials. This is done for several reasons; it provides the customer an option to shop around for the lowest prices, it provides them the peace of mind knowing that they are not being overcharged for items they have pre-selected, and it allows the customer the option to change their mind on selections without the fear of having to renegotiate an existing contract.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Attended East Tennessee State University in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in engineering with a minor in business. Studied graphic arts, CADD, technical drawing, drafting, construction materials, technical writing, computer science, residential electric, construction estimating, etc. Held Tennessee state general contractor's license from March 2012 thru March 2014.
