Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: When Allied Music Instructors was established in 2003, at our Farragut studio, it was the very first school of it’s kind to open in the Knoxville area. Since then we have moved into a much larger location in hopes of bringing the joys of music to even more students, and changed our name to better reflect the community we serve. Now known as Knoxville Academy Of Music, we are conveniently located at 11230 Kingston Pike, in the Brooklawn Shopping Center and are accessible from Kingston Pike, Concord Road, and Brooklawn Street. Within our location, we house multiple teaching studios, and are open to serve your musical needs seven days a week. Our lessons in guitar, bass, drums, piano, voice, violin, viola, banjo, ukulele, music theory and composition, as well as our ensemble programs give students a wide variety of avenues to further their musical repertoire, while the convenient location and wide variety of instructors give students the access and flexibility to take lessons in the midst of their busy schedules. Our lessons are $32. per 30 minute private lesson, plus the one time registration fee of $30.00. The private lessons we provide are a half hour each, and your child would come once a week on the same day, and at the same time each week. There are 48 scheduled lessons within a calendar year, but you do have the option to withdraw at any time. We won’t hassle you, pile on fees, or make it difficult to withdraw. Drop forms are provided at the front desk of our location. All you have to do is fill out a drop form and turn it in to us by the 15th day of your last month with us. We value each and every one of our students, and hope as time passes, those that have withdrawn may choose to re-enroll with us. If at any time you need to make a permanent change to your lesson times, lesson days, or instructor, we will do everything in our power to accommodate you! All you need to do is give us a call or drop by the front desk and we be more than happy to schedule a different time, day, or instructor! For your convenience, we now offer Saturday make-ups! If you or your child miss a regularly scheduled lesson you can now sign up for a free group make up lesson with the office manager at the front desk. These make ups are unlimited - you can sign up each and every time you miss a regularly scheduled lesson! These classes are limited to a maximum of six students, and are on a first come / first served basis. Make up schedules are posted in several places throughout each studio, and are also available at the front desk. We also have a handy guide to help you decide which make up class would be best suited to your needs. Saturday make up lessons are an hour in length, giving us time to provide more one on one time to our students. We typically offer several classes each Saturday, and the particular class offered changes from week to week to better serve your needs. If the specific class you want is not available one week, chances are it will be available within the month. If for any reason your instructor has to cancel their lesson with you, we will try to find a substitute instructor for you, and keep the scheduled lesson for your convenience. If a substitute cannot be found, we will schedule a private make up lesson at a time that is most convenient for you. Knoxville Academy students also enjoy our Musical Ladder System®, which helps them keep track of how they are progressing with fun musical achievement tests taken in the student's lesson every 90 days or so, much like the belt tests in karate. Our students, upon passing, receive FREE trophies, wristbands, and achievement certificates. There are NO fees to our clients for this service, and we are the ONLY school in the area that offers it. Student's love our Musical Ladder System, and it's sure to bring a big smile and a great sense of accomplishment!

DO NOT take music lessons here. The concept behind the school is fair, but the truth is, they are only after your money. I came in after a year or so of teaching myself guitar, wanting to progress. I got set up with one of the teachers who was listed as "expert for advanced players". The lady could not play a simple riff, and when she tried to bend a string her hand flew off the guitar and the string slapped against it.. Then she told me that "it might take a while to see where I was at, so after a couple of months I should know where you are." I was clearly passed her level of playing yet she insisted that I still "learn" from her. I knew from there that they were only there for the cash. I got a different guitar teacher than that lady, and a vocal instructor too. The guitar teacher rambled on and on, took up the time I paid for, trying to learn the licks that I showed him. The vocal teacher gave me vocal warm-ups that she messed up on and she left out one of the important ones. She told me that she was going to email them to me after that class, in that time I told her this was my last lesson. Since she saw I was not going to be giving her any more money, I never got the correct vocal warm-ups I was initially supposed to get, and I emailed the staff, and never got a reply as well. Not to mention the fact that your minutes get taken up from them talking to the people leaving before hand and not being made up for, and the fact that sometimes they are 20 minutes late and "forgot they had a lesson." You will get around 10 minutes of actual lessons, if you are lucky, from the 30 minutes that you pay 30 dollars for, the rest being them rambling on about things that aren't relevant. I feel like I've been scammed, please find a different, legitimate place to learn from. They are ripoffs who con beginners into thinking that they actually know how to play, and are only after your money.
Knoxville Academy of Music's reply
Dear John Q Thanks for providing your feedback (since you have posted here under an assumed name we reach out to you through this forum). We want you to know that it is very important to all of us, at the Knoxville Academy of Music, that our clients have a great experience and receive a good value with their music lessons. We take providing high quality music instruction and top-notch customer service very seriously. All of our instructors have degrees in music and/or extensive real-world-experience performing music. However, not every student is always a great fit with every instructor (one of the reasons we have many instructors). We're sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your experience and if you feel that we did not match you with the right instructors for your interests, or that we otherwise did not meet your expatiations, then we would like to do what we can to remedy the situation. John Q., if you will reach out to me personally, I promise you I will do what I can to make things right. Call and ask for Misha, I'm in the office Mon.-Fri. mornings & afternoons. As an adult, learning an instrument can seem overwhelming. But at Knoxville Academy of Music it isn’t. I found the instructors personable, caring, and positive. They don’t just want you to learn at KAM, they want you to love learning, and they truly provide the environment that makes that happen. Lessons are private and affordable and competitive. Best of all, though, Knoxville Academy of Music treats you like a family friend, rather than an appointment in their book.

Phil is the instructor for violin at Knoxville Academy of music. He has MANY years of expertise. My daughter is a beginner and she has never been so focused and intense on learning something. She practices every day without me asking her to. Phil's structure and professionalism is a huge part of this! I am excited to see where this takes her in the next year.
