FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After initial contact, we will set up a Meet & Greet to go over all the information necessary for the request. This ensures that we have a chance to talk about any concerns and make sure that my service is the perfect fit for your needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a member of Pet Sitters International, I have access to continuing education, online webinars, and many other resources to keep me informed of the latest in pet care practices. My education and training for Small Animal Massage includes the following as part of the 200-hour hands on/academic program at Bancroft School of Massage Therapy: Small Animal Anatomy and Introduction to Pathologies, Small Animal Behavior, Handling and Management, Animal Health/Bio-Security Animal Massage Techniques I, II, and Regional Massage Applications, Animal First Aid/CPR, Energy Healing Modalities for Animals, and Ethics. In addition, 39 hours of hands-on massage hours were completed during the program.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always had a love for animals and after completing my certification for Small Animal Massage Therapy, I decided to include pet sitting and dog walking to round out my services. I had found that my massage clients and I had built strong working relationships based on trust and outstanding care for their animals, that it was a natural progression to offer services to care for their pets when they needed to be away from home. Massage and energy work are often the very things that help pets ease into a state a relaxation while being cared for by someone other than their owners.
