This was a nightmare from the start. When we first met with Lee Laudermik about a mail audit on our taxes from a previous year, we were told to come to her office, which to our surprise was at her house and her office was a cluttered kitchen table that we could barely fit into. Her dogs barked and scratched at the kitchen door and she yelled at them to shut-up the entire time. Even though she had told me on-line the charge would be $250 (to get us there), once we were there, the charge went up to $500. We were under the gun on time, so even though she was very unprofessional, we said okay. When she completed the forms to send off, she called my husband and told him she felt like we should give her more money, or at least a big tip. He told her he did not think so. After our comments came back about a month later from the IRS, there were several mistakes, and 1 form that they wanted more information on. I found the errors myself, and got the information needed myself. The only thing she did was type a letter that was a copy of my e-mail to her. She also said she called the IRS examiner and sat on the phone for 3 hours. She charged us for 13 hours for these 2 items at $50.00 per hour. The cost was $650.00. There is no way she worked 13 hours for us. Do not hire this woman, Lee Laudermilk. She is very unprofessional, she does not have any type of office or organization of files set up....she keeps paperwork in paperbags and shoeboxes. When you try to talk to her about your files, she is always confused! Then she will over charge you!!!! Please do not use her. She should not be doing taxes. She is a nightmare! I hope I never her voice or see her again.

In all my 30 years of preparing tax returns, I have never had to deal with a situation like this. I am only able to file taxes or amendments based on the info/receipts/documents I am given by the client. I might have certain prices for normal returns, ie 1040, 1065, etc, but never quote a job until I have reviewed the facts and met with the prospective client. Quoting a job can be determined to be a hourly fee or by size of account. After reviewing the case, and spending an hour with them, they were quoted a price, told it could be more time involved (and it was) and that it would be a process of time before all would be final and that this was not the final and only cost but it was for the first response and having to do all the receipts, copies etc. such as paper bags and manilla envelopes full of hundreds of receipts that had to be unfolded, sorted, catargoized and copied all for IRS response I have an office in the home full of computer, books, certifications, printers, file cabinets, just as any office does, but it is easier to spread papers out on a table. This had been an ongoing situation since March and evidently my client didn’t have all that they needed for their taxes or IRS wouldn’t have sent a total of four (4) Exams to them. Had the client known the errors in the first place, they wouldn’t have needed professional help.

I like Lee. I think she did a good job with my fairly complicated LLC Federal and (CA) State returns. I'll use her again.
