We hired Mark and his crew to complete a garage ceiling re-frame that included raising the height of the ceiling. While there were some issues with one of his sub-contractors Mark rectified these issues and made it right in the end. The job is complete and we are content with the work performed.
Bobby's work in replacing my hot water heater was quick, efficient and professionally done. I felt very at ease with the entire process. I have a new contractor for all my household projects!
I recently used American Builders for a roofing project. The team came by early and did a great job. Not only was the job great but Artis came by to ensure that the job was being done correctly. He was very pleasant and explained the details of what was being done. In this day and time, the level of customer service your provided has lowered. This was a very pleasant experience.
I contracted Precision Painting Company to repair rotten wood panels the chimney of my home was selling as well as the clean and service the A/C unit. They performed excellent work on both jobs and completed the timely. Mr. Cox followed up immediately to make sure all work was completed to my satisfaction.
Thanks to Justin and everyone at HomeTown Home Services, we now have a livable second floor! We had three doorways raised (it was formerly an attic), two regular doors installed, and a barn door installed for the bedroom. We also had a closet within the walk-in closet removed, and we had the entire upstairs painted. We are still (a few weeks later) amazed at how much more space we have, the quality of the work that was done, and the speed with which they completed the work (four days or so). We really have only good things to say about them, and we hope to have them back soon to do some more work on our downstairs. I should add that after what felt like a year of chasing various contractors to do this work, and either not getting our calls returned or dealing with foolishness like estimates written on a napkin and texted to us, working with HomeTown Home Services was a dream. Justin got back to my original message within a day or so, came out that week, and was ready to start the following week. He and in his crew were communicative throughout the process and adapted if we came up with other ideas. Justin also personally took a walk through on the final day to note areas that needed touching up. In short, hire these folks, and you will not be disappointed!
They did an awesome job repairing and painting the plaster ceiling in my 1950s house!
The good: David Munns came to our home to review a large job. He quoted a very reasonable price. He showed up daily around 8-9 and worked till about 3-4 pm. David assured us he could get the job done right. We made sure he knew that we would supply anything he needed to get it done. He was also able to purchase paint at a great price. The Bad: David Munns suggested that we use flat paint instead of shiny because if we didnt he said that we would see every flaw in the paint. But we wanted eggshell because the paint was for kitchen and dining area and you can't wipe down flat paint if food spatter gets on it. We went with his recommendation at first before we understood this about dining areas. The flat paint did not look good though and the colors didn't look the same as the samples when applied to the walls. We purchased more paint for the second coat in eggshell. However after he painted the first coat we noticed that he had got paint all over the cabinets and our white trim, He also had assured us that he could paint over the wallpaper, had done it plenty of times before and it would look alright. He said that he and would peel back, sand and mudd the edges before painting them but he neglected to do so and it was looking pretty bad. All around our trim and the edges of the walls look terrible with the flat flaw covering paint. Also noted but not even mentioned to him cause we were trying to be easy going, was nail holes not filled in or sanded down just painted over leaving rough places and holes. Things we had agreed to be done before the job started. The terrible: I would have worked with all this but when we pointed this out and asked him about these things, he assured us he would fix it, we accepted that from him but then instead, he took offense to our having questioned his work and left without telling us that he was going. We were astonished that he would do that and it seemed very unreasonable to get so upset. After all we were paying him a lot of money for the job and just wanted to make sure it was done appropriately. He left more work to be done than when he started. David seemed personable but he didn't explain things well and took it personal when we asked him questions even though we assured him we just wanted to be on the same page and make sure the final result came out right. He seemed to want to cut corners instead of doing it right and as agreed. He blamed the builders any time we pointed out anow area saying that they had done a poor job when building our home. After Mr. Munns suprised us by leaving suddenly I tried to call and messaged him asking him to come back and tried to work things out but he didn't respond. We are very dissapointed and feel that Mr. Munns was unprofessional in his dealings with us just quitting like that. We thought we were fair with him and we also spoke calmly and nicely to him when asking him questions and pointing out what we wanted fixed. We paid a deposit and now have to dispute those charges minus paint costs and have other painters come in to finish the job and fix our cabinets. I would not recommend Liberty Painting to anyone. I didn't want to have to leave a bad review I actually hate this and wish Mr. Munns would have just stuck it out and tried to talk to us. We like to think we are on the same team and that's how it could have been. I hope he was just having a bad day but unfortunately that left us in a poor position that is gonna cost us to fix it.
David did a good job start to finish. He should up when he said he would and on time. David met his estimate on time and dollars. David's communication skills are the best compared to any other contractor I used over 30 years. David did a good job and I would recommend him to friends.
Nathan did a wonderful job painting our wood paneling.
My name is Barbara R. Let me start out by saying, I am very skeptical of contractors. Having moved to Memphis only a year ago, I have seen my share. Mark Calhoun (Calhoun Painting Company) put me at ease immediately. After obtaining several bids, Mark was selected to paint the entire interior of my five bedroom home. His ability to communicate and deliver as promised was most admirable. He outlined the scope of the job detailing the terms of our agreement. He kept me informed as it relates to exactly what his crew would be doing on any given day. Throughout the process, Mark consulted with me to make sure I was happy with the progress. Upon my request, he provided recommendations for paint color - which I found most helpful. I don't have all day to share my experience, but I feel that I could literally talk all day about how wonderful this experience has been. His crew spoke very highly of him as well. They are happy on their job which speaks volumes for the company. They are an extension of Mark - very cordial, professional, always clean up after themselves and provide a service that you are happy to pay for. THE JOB LOOKS GREAT ! ! ! If you are looking for reliable painting service, I cannot imagine you finding anyone that will present higher standards.
Lawana has designed 3 homes for me and I will never use anyone else. She is very personable and courteous to everyone she works with from the contractors to the people mixing paint! Give her a call 813-417-4215. You will love the perfection in her work.
We have been trying to fix up our house to rent out this summer and after being stood up by other contractors several times, Jose went above and beyond our expectations by showing up and doing the work quickly. He was great at returning messages and working with us on price. He showed us receipts for materials and we actually paid less than the original quote even with some minor hiccups. When installing new sink stopper, our rusted drain trap fell apart. He picked up the part and came back on his own time to make sure it was taken care of. He went over the quote/contract twice and answered all my questions. We had rotten deck stairs and boards, an exterior door that needed replacing and painting, a drywall patch and trim piece installed. Everything was finished in a day! He has found a great team and we appreciated how hard they worked. We hope they will be available to help us with our new home!
