I spoke with John today by phone to set up guitar lessons as a birthday present for my husband. He was easy to talk to and flexible as far as setting up lesson times. I'm excited to have found his help!
Nathan is fantastic. I had already learned how to play a few songs on the piano after only a couple of lessons! He is very easy to work with and a great teacher! I highly reccommend him to anyone looking for lessons! :)
Beginner piano lessons. Camee is friendly and low stress! Lots of fun and I've signed up for more lessons.
Matt has been giving guitar lessons to our daughter for about two years. She has learned an incredible amount. He is able to judge just how much to push her so that she continues to learn but also really enjoys her lessons and playing. He has taught her a lot of music theory along the way. We like him so much that we're continuing her lessons via Skype even though Matt has moved away from our area. He's a great teacher and we absolutely recommend him.
Keenan is very talented musician who took the time get to know me and listened to what I was looking for in guitar instruction. He is very personable and easy to learn from.
Matt is great!!! He’s very patient and makes the lessons fun for my child.
I was so lucky to have found Jimmy to teach my daughter guitar. He is talented, knowledgeable, patient and kind. She blossomed under his tutelage!
I was excited about learning to play guitar, but how to begin was the problem. First, Denny called; his personality was warm and calming. He was very confident in his abilities, stated as a matter of fact, but does not major on that; he stayed focused on me, as a beginner, and how he could best serve my needs. From meeting me at the music store and providing guidance with my first guitar purchase through my first lesson, Denny provided gentle guidance and helped build my confidence. After the first lesson, I was able to play chords clearly and even had others to learn during my independent practice. I am very grateful I chose Denny as the professional to begin my new journey with. If you seriously want to learn how to play and enjoy your guitar experience, you owe it to yourself to get in contact with Denny.
I've been taking guitar lessons with Dan for a couple months now. I have been played piano since I can remember, and always wanted to learn how to play guitar, but never got around to it. I can say I'm definitely getting more comfortable and confident with it after a few lessons. I like that he doesn't just teach you basic chords, but also really gets into finger picking and intricate exercises as well. On top of being a great teacher, he's such a friendly and inspiring human being. I would highly recommend guitar lessons with him!
Both of my children have been taking lessons (violin and piano) at The Music House for two years now and we have had a wonderful experience. Our teachers have been professional and engaged. They seem to know how to really work well with each individual child and cater the lessons to their level as well as their needs/desires. I can't recommend strongly enough!
I first heard Amanda performing (singing) at the Jazz Alley in Seattle and was very impressed!! When I learned that she could teach voice lessons to my daughter (11 at the time) I immediately signed her up. Our experience was wonderful; Amanda is professional, timely and so much fun. Amanda recorded my daughter singing a song, also helped her prepare for an audition! We were very sad when we learned that she was moving away.
Great teacher. He's the real deal as a performer and player and can get to the heart of what you need to learn whatever stage you're at. As far as rocking blues guitar, Tony's the man. Great guy!
Bob Lewis was my on and off guitar teacher for close to 10 years in Wilkes-Barre Pa. I started with Bob at 12, gave up (my first mistake!) taught myself came back at 16 and studied with him for four or five years. In those four/five years I learned General to Moderate level Music Theory including Diatonic Theory, Chord building Theory, scale theory, chord progressions, picking posture ect. I could go on for days about what I learned but the fact that the social climate of those thirty minute weekly sessions was always calm, relaxed and full of fresh ideas. Every concept was very straight forward and if it was a bit complex (such as modal guitar solos,) Bob would explain it in a way that made sense based on our prior sessions (aka, he actually adapts to your idiosyncrasies ) At any point when I hit a wall Bob was immediately finding ways to climb over the wall. If it was not in that session by next week he would have devised a plan to work on overcoming the daunting idea at hand. Aside from the straight forward learning methods, if you go into a lesson with Bob off the cuff without any goals in mind for your development he can easily break down what you need to work on and how your should work on it. Also... Bob can shred...so fear not fret board wizards! As for what could have been better I have not much to say. The fact is with most good teachers your own ignorance is usually the problem and when i started at 12 by the time i came back at 16 I realized that Bob's method was not flawed, it was my attention span. The Man is a brilliant guitar player and all around musician and is well worth your time.
My daughter took classical guitar lessons from Will Fruchterman for one year. He taught her so much and really helped her technical skills improve greatly. It was wonderful to see how much her motivation increased once she started working with Will. He taught her many new songs and worked with her on special side projects, including helping her to prepare a blues-style song for an audition. He was very flexible in meeting our schedule and willing to adjust as needed. My daughter's love and passion for classical guitar have definitely grown and vastly improved in her year with Will. In addition to helping my daughter, he also helped her school guitar club, inviting them to participate in a special event at Christopher Newport University. Meeting other guitar students and seeing others perform has helped the school guitar club build new goals to strengthen their skills. So, Will has indirectly influenced about twenty other kids, as well! Sadly, he moved away, but he did take the time to find her a new classical guitar teacher. We are eternally grateful for finding such a professional, patient, and dedicated teacher in Will Fruchterman.
I took guitar lessons with Evan for over six months. He was extremely patient with me and I always had a good time. He taught me chords by picking songs that I would enjoy practicing and showing me simplified versions of them. I never felt ashamed or overwhelmed. I started with absolutely no experience and he gave me manageable lessons but I always felt like I was moving forward. If I hadn't moved out of the area, I would definitely still be taking lessons!
Tara Tinsley is extremely talented! She also has the upmost patience while teaching. I am a beginner at the guitar, and if there was a word to describe "less a than beginner," that would be me. She went at my own pace because obviously I am very slow to switch between chords. I have taken a couple lessons so far and as long as I practice what she teaches at home I know I will be able to play songs in no time. I would recommend her to anybody for guitar lessons. Her office is in a great, historic building in downtown Tacoma. It is a professional office building with free street parking close by (which is almost impossible to find downtown). The lobby has seating for students and/or parents to wait. For parents that don't want to wait inside, there is a coffee and wine bar a block away! If anyone is skeptical she has music on YouTube and Spotify. Check it out and I know you will be convinced to learn from her!
My daughter takes guitar lessons from Keith. She's 10 and pretty shy but Keith is very patient. He has taught her about new genres of music and new musicians. He encourages her to bring in things she wants to learn. She enjoys her lessons a lot and has discovered a talent she didn't know she had, with Keith's gentle, encouraging direction. She has enjoyed it so much she's inspired her sister to take lessons from Keith as well. In addition, Keith is phenomenonally talented and sometimes he plays a little after her lesson is over, and that's always a treat!
My 11-year-old son has been taking guitar lessons from Zeb for about a year, and has loved every second of it. He honestly looks forward to his lesson all week long and is disappointed any time we have to cancel. Zeb is such a natural with him, and my son really looks up to him. I love that he is learning so much and having such a great time doing it!
I bring years of professional experience to each lesson. I also am very customer service focused; I am able to quickly identify strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles of a variety of students, regardless of age.

I really enjoy music and playing music, I want to share that with everyone I teach so I put my heart and soul into it.
I offer vocal and guitar lessons for beginners and intermediate-level students. I'm a Berklee College of Music alumni. Composition and arranging lessons are available as well.
