I enjoyed my first piano lesson with Tatia. She was quickly able to ascertain my experience and ability and gave me pieces and scales to work on that suit me. Tatia is pleasant to work with and I look forward to more lessons and to making progress in my piano playing.
My girls have taken music lessons at Cedarstone for the past year. Other than some minor scheduling issues, they have had a wonderful experience and have learned so much!
Drum Kit lessons with Lael is fantastic! He listened to my desired goals, took notes, and by the end of our 1st session had a beginning plan developed for me to reach them. He carefully dissected everything from our discussion and custom taylor a plan for me. He has a genuine best regard for the students safety, well being, and quest in learning percussion. Hire him....you will not be disappointed!
I took two drum lessons with Danny, and for both he was absolutely incredible. I’m still just learning, and Danny was very straightforward, helpful, professional, and hilarious. He really took the pressure from the situation. Definitely will continue to take lessons.
Our daughter's experience with Matt Cummings was little short of transformative for her, and, truth be told for us as her parents, as well. Matt worked with our daughter throughout her high school career, mentoring 3 different bands she fronted as lead singer, but he also helped her record single songs and an EP, introduced her to the studio, to other musicians and the broader world of music, always providing. Matt was always able to negotiate the sometimes fine line between teacher/mentor and friend/confidante. He served as therapist and counselor as often as not and whenever needed. Matt truly understood and conveyed to his kids the delicate balance of fun and joy with hard work and discipline, all resulting in growth, both musically and personally. He is serious about his craft and expects his students to be as well; but experiences with Matt never appeared mundane or routine. He unlocked the power and joy in making music together. Matt is an incredibly talented musician in his own right. He sings with a powerful, emotive, raw voice and is nothing short of a virtuoso on the guitar moving fluidly and seamlessly across the musical spectrum (R&B, funk, rock, pop and jazz.) We've paid to see/hear him perform and would do so again. That said his immense personal talent does not get in the way with students, rather it serves as a tool in both teaching and exemplifying what they can aspire to. Matt is truly facile in every element and ingredient of the contemporary musical scene and has a depth of experience and sage wisdom that belies his relative youth. I've watched him personally work with kids from 10 to 18, and have no doubt he bring the same talents and industry to students older and younger. He treats clients with warmth, respect and good humor; but can be a task master as and if needed. I recommend him heartily and without reservation. You are putting your child(ren) in the best of hands when you allow them to work and flourish with him. Our daughter left high school a year early and matriculated to Berklee College of Music, Matt's own alma mater; all this in no small measure due to his tutelage, devotion, knowledge and friendship. I am hard-pressed to come up with a negative in working with Matt these last few years. He proved nothing less than a treasure musically and beyond.
Keith is the best teacher I ever had. He taught with a passion that filled the air with urge to dig into paradiddles and tackle odd time signatures willingly. Its rare to come across someone who teaches the basics with the same enthusiasm as a super enthrawling drum solo. Keith gave me tools that I carry on the gig with me everyday that has propelled my ability to work in any situation. His attitude towards drumming is emersion on a very fun level that i feel like not many teachers can convey to their students. I couldnt have done it without Keith. Late night drum hangs, to early morning double stroke work outs, to online transcribing. Theres no one better!
Excellent knowledge of music and flexible teaching methodology to address my need. Strongly recommend.
Jon is a remarkable teacher who has also become a friend! You can't go wrong with hiring Jon for your drum lesson needs.
Will was fantastic. He showed up on time was polite and very good with my son. We have tried a few teachers but Will really knew his stuff and was able to help my son improve within just one lesson. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a drum teacher.
My daughter was 5 when she started her drum lessons. Jeremy made it easy and fun for her to learn. I give him major props for finding non-traditional ways of teaching her and ensuring that she actually enjoyed every lesson (along with being able to harness a 5 year old's typical attention span). My daughter loved going to lessons. We would still be with Jeremy if he hadn't moved - that was a sad day in my daughter's life. She definitely loved him. I highly recommend Jeremy without any hesitations.
Great professional and teacher. Highly recommend him for those wanting to take their drumming to the next level!
I teach drum lessons to students of all ages. I am able to teach many styles including rock, jazz, Latin, funk, etc. I have a B. A. in music business, and I have been teaching for two and a half years.
Looking to better yourself as a drummer or a musician as a whole? I offer easy half-hour and one-hour private drum and Djembe lessons. Students of all skill levels are welcome! I've been playing the drums for ten years. I was the youngest section leader in the history of my HS marching band, and we placed fifth in the nation out of 148 other drumlines at the 2008 Nationals.
Over the years of working in the music industry I have developed into a player that can adapt efficiently to different type gigs. To do this I had to breakdown how I teach myself & students best and what led to success and conversely failure. According to analytical psychologist Malcom Gladwell it take 10k hours of correct individual learning methods to master something. In researching the VARK theory I realized that most of us are not just visual or auditory or readers/writers or kinesthetic learners; we typically need multiple angles in order to break through a barrier. I enjoy passing on the tradition of music education and drumming to students for recreation or professional goals.
Whether you've never played drums before or you've been playing for years, you deserve to be taught by a professional. I've been a touring drummer for 5 years and have appeared on stage with Justin Timberlake, Kenny Loggins, Chris Stapleton, and The Shadowboxers. I'm an experienced teacher in many genres including funk, rock, jazz, classical, and latin. Whatever your goals are in music, I want to help you achieve them!
Drummer 101 takes the body in mind when setting up the kit to playing position. Also learning drumming building blocks to help you on your way to learning more as your practice keeps growing.
