We had Lettuce Do Lunch & Dinner come out and do drop-off catering for our company Christmas party for about 60 people. I was too busy to ever eat any of the food, but all reports were that the food was delicious. I was very happy with the price, variety, and quantity. If you have heavy eaters you may want to buy for more than your actual number of people, but the amount given was very generous for the price. Pam arrived right on time and got everything set up in a flash. We'll probably be calling again come next Christmas!

I have known Law for the past 9 months as a friend and a workout buddy. As a physical therapist, I was surprised at his knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the body and at the tips and new exercises he has introduced to me to improve my own routine (both exercise and nutrition). He knows his stuff...everything from nutrition to designing a program to optimize benefits while minimizing time. Hes not just another trainer - his education and athletic history give him an edge, and his current rates are unbelievably low as he is trying to get his own thing going right now! He is very personable, easy going, and fun. You are sure to enjoy workouts wih him if you enjoy working hard and sweating!

Excellent service. Meals are delicious. Portion sizes are good. We have tried many food services before. This is the best ! Even my picky kids eat the food. Although I like to cook, it is such a relief to have Will bring meals that make our dinner time more relaxing as a busy family.

Chef Dave was the absolute best! He prepared an amazing meal one of the nights for my sister's bachlorette party in Nashville. A week leading into my trip he contacted me and helped me put together a delicious southern inspired menu for all eleven girls. He was very accommodating, there was a vegetarian in our party, so he made an additional entree just for her. On the day of, he remained in constant communication with me letting me know details on his arrival and the minor changes to the menu (he was looking out for the best ingredients). When he arrived he was super professional but extremely personable. Being in a house with eleven talkative girls who ask a million questions is tough, despite that, he managed to get everything done and put together an amazing meal. The food he prepared was phenomenal, we started with fried green tomatoes then a Jack Daniels braised short rib with rosemary mash potatoes and asparagus for the entree and sides. But the one thing that still has me and the other girls talking is his croissant bread pudding bananas fosters. You haven't lived until you've had this bread pudding! Thanks Chef David; until next time!

I hired Chef JoAnna as a private chef for a cooking lesson for me and my girlfriend for my girlfriend's birthday. We had so much fun! I found her website online and decided to give her a call. Chef JoAnna provided a range of options for the menu and let me choose what I thought would be a good dinner to cook together. I told her it was a surprise for my girlfriend's birthday, and she even helped keep it a secret (we were in touch over email and by text). We drove to her kitchen, which is about 1 hr outside of Nashville. She also will travel to use your kitchen as well. The menu was a 3 course Indian food meal (I chose the cuisine beforehand, she recommended some menu choices) that my girlfriend and I cooked together with Chef JoAnna's instruction. She had some appetizers waiting for us so that we wouldn't be hungry waiting for our food to cook. She took time to explain a lot of different cooking techniques (both of us were kitchen novices), so we were able to learn a lot! Once the entree was done, we enjoyed our dinner with wine that I brought. After the entree, we enjoyed dessert together. I would recommend Chef JoAnna for cooking lessons. I was able to pay for everything with a credit card. We kept the leftovers and leftover unused groceries. She was a great teacher, and my girlfriend and I were able to make our own gourmet meal. We both really enjoyed the whole evening!

I contacted Chef Casandra with a catering idea for a unique birthday party... an afternoon High Tea! She got right to work researching the traditional menus and history of High Teas. She was quick to respond with suggestions and took my initial concept to a whole new level! Chef Casandra took care of everything from the serving trays to rentals to the food (of course) and even hand-selected the assortment of tea offerings. Her creativity and professionalism are superb... not to mention, the food! Everything was so delicious! My guests left impressed, delighted and -- most importantly -- full! I will absolutely work with Chef Casandra again and will be quick to recommend her to anyone seeking an amazing catering chef. Thank you, Chef Casandra, for making my birthday one to remember!!

Lesley is a creative chef who makes it a fun experience to cook. She shares her knowledge about nutrition and the importance of good food to maintain your health. We were challenged with putting the family on a gluten-free, egg-free & dairy-free diet which was initially overwhelming, however, Lesley helped us come up with some delicious options.

I had the opportunity to have Laura Holmes come into my home and cook a 3 course dinner for eight. We were celebrating my parents 55th Anniversary. What a fantastic job she did!!! She arrived promptly, had everything she needed and prepared a very memorable dining experience. The food she prepared was delicious. She served each course and cleaned her work area when she was done. I would highly recommend Laura to anyone looking to enjoy the dinner company instead of working in the kitchen. And I will certainly call Laura again!!!!!!

I found Moore Nutritious at a time in my life when I was in a nutrition RUT. I've always been active, but when it came to what I put in my body, I'd tried a few trends—paleo, whole30, juice cleanses. I'd be great for a couple of weeks, but, without fail, I'd slip back into my old habits. The Moore Nutritious gals spent time getting to know me, listened to my needs and lifestyle, and introduced me to a sustainable way of feeding my body that I can actually keep up longterm! I'm stoked and have never felt better. If you want a health coach, go anywhere. But if you want someone who leads with compassion, helps you find a personal solution, and becomes a dear friend along the way, try Moore Nutritious.

She was excellent with communicating details concerning menu planned, and budget projected. Food she prepared for the event was excellent, and exactly what we wanted. Guests attending that partook of her menu complimented me about the delicious food she had prepared all evening! I will definitely call upon Madeline for further service when hosting another important dinner. Her quality of service with good integrity is priceless.

I've known this guy for quite sometime, and he's always had the urge to win, not only within himself but he wanted to genuinely see others excel too! I started off just going to basic one day a week Women.On.Weights classes they are fun, challenging, and there's not a heavy pressure that comes with it, we simply do our best with the time we have. Here it is months later and I've enrolled in another class that's more intense, I've noticed so many changes within my mind and body I urge to eat healthier and treat my body better. I couldn't have discovered the importance of clean eating and a balanced work out without him!

My experience with George so far has been great! I'm 3 months postpartum and I'm anxious to lose the baby weight. But working with George- he has informed me that I won't lose any weight while sleep deprived (baby is not sleep trained yet) and so encourages me to sort out the sleeping patterns before we get started with exercising. This has proved to me that not only is not simply after the money by making me pay him to train me with no results, but also that he cares and has my best interests at heart! He is very knowledgeable about nutrition as well as exercise, which is not necessarily something you get with typical trainers (at least the "beefcake" types!) He is knowledgeable about the changes a woman's body goes through when pregnant which is obviously very helpful for me. I would recommend George to anyone!

Chef Derron helped me surprise my wife with a “personal chef” experience at our house like no other. He is really great to work with and made our anniversary night one for the books. My wife was so surprised, blown away by the service, and was able to eat her favorite which is lobster tails! I would recommend Chef Derron for any experience you have! He is very passionate and caring for the food he serves, as well as for the guest who is able to enjoy it! Thank you Chef!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
