John is a good teacher. He gives good "homework" to practice and works at his students' pace. He also is flexible about scheduling which has been super helpful! I'm really enjoying bass lessons and feel like he is working hard to teach me to play tunes realistic for my skill level and keep up with others!

Bryce is awesome! Our 18yo son has been taking guitar lessons from Bryce for several years now and has always walked away from each lesson excited about some new technique or inspired to try a new song. Besides being a thorough and innovative teaching musician, Bryce has also been a wonderful mentor friend to our son. Our son has grown so much over the years in both confidence & ability under Bryce’s encouraging & creative teaching style. I highly recommend Bryce to anyone looking for a grounded, yet cutting edge musical instructor.

I've been taking guitar lessons with Dan for a couple months now. I have been played piano since I can remember, and always wanted to learn how to play guitar, but never got around to it. I can say I'm definitely getting more comfortable and confident with it after a few lessons. I like that he doesn't just teach you basic chords, but also really gets into finger picking and intricate exercises as well. On top of being a great teacher, he's such a friendly and inspiring human being. I would highly recommend guitar lessons with him!

He went over my goals with me and what I needed to learn and practice inoder to reach them in detail. He also did a great job at connecting and expanding on what I already knew about bass and music theory as well as going over all the basics.

Buddy has been giving myself and my two boys guitar lessons for a couple of years now and he is amazing. Not only does he have the ability to help someone that is older like myself, but he does a great job with my sons. One is 9 years old and the other is 13, he has tons of patience when it comes to the boys, they are like everyone that wants to play like a pro yesterday. I will continue to take lessons from Buddy for many years to come. If you are looking at different people to take lessons from Buddy is by far the best that I have ever dealt with.

I have worked with Matt Cummings for 5 years, he was my band instructor and personal bass teacher. He was always very lenient with style and song choices; he would always be there to help learn new songs, or even write songs. Matt is a very reliable person whom I could trust to be on-time and respectable. Through the countless hours spent with him I have become very close with him. I recommend anyone and everyone to try lessons form him. He is a extremely talented person and I think that he can help everyone get better.

Alex is an excellent teacher, and very personable. I'm 30 years old, and played Rick music (self taught) for 10 years. I wanted to learn how to read chord charts, and learn see basics about jazz. Alex taught me a common sense way to learn many new chord voicings and to comp basic jazz changes. After 6 months, I feel confident that I can sight read chords to just about any jazz standard, and I've become a much better soloist and rock player as well. I recommend Alex to anyone.

I have been interested in learning to play guitar for a long time. My son who is going to be a senior was also interested in picking up the bass guitar in order to take a Rock Band class in school. Being a busy mom, I needed someone who could come to our house as well as be flexible with scheduling lessons. Lonny does both of these and is very reasonable with his fee. My son and I both have played piano and 1 other instrument each so that rhythm and reading notes came easier for us. But Lonny took me pretty far in the first couple of lessons that I was able to play notes on all 6 strings and therefore beautiful classical guitar songs with notes and chords in the treble and bass clefs. He is currently working with my son on syncopation. I'm confident that he has listened to my son's goals and will have him ready to be comfortable playing in Rock Band once school starts.

About

I'm offering bass guitar lessons for all ages and experience levels, from beginner to advanced, and customized for each individual. I have a B.M. in commercial music and music business from Millikin University in Decatur, IL, with a focus on bass and over 12 years of experience playing a wide variety of genres, including jazz, country, funk, pop, rock, and more. (Additionally, my undergraduate study equipped me with strong knowledge and understanding of music theory.) For the past year, I've been working exclusively as a freelance musician, playing bass. This was my goal when I moved to Nashville just over two years ago. Let's chat! My typical rate is $25 for a half-hour lesson and $45 for an hour. Usually, my students meet me at my house in East Nashville, but under special circumstances, I might be willing to travel.

We offer: * Bass lessons * Guitar lessons We are connecting beginner musicians to play in a real band. Don't say it's too expensive! I can work with parents that are on a budget, but don't want to wait any longer to get their kids into a hobby or skill that will last them a lifetime. I am very flexible, and I can teach from my house, your house, or use Skype (the best of both worlds). I have been playing for 15 years, and have lots too offer, including lessons on advanced technique and live playing.
