FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started the Suzuki method when I was two and my first memories were of playing. With that kind of connection to the instrument, it was only natural that I went into the field.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I do a lot of remote recording for people that want a Nashville sound on their records, but they can't get to town. On occasion, a band from out of town will contact me about doing a tour. I have travelled all over the world with music. Finally, I get a lot of people interested in Skype lessons. They work best for those who have played in the past or are seeing me as an additional teacher. Many of these students have either a classical or fiddle teacher and need someone from out of town to cover the other genre.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently recorded an EP for Mama's Blue Dress with producers Jen Ketner and Keith Stegall. Keith has produced records for Zac Brown and Alan Jackson. It was a thrill to be in the studio playing with them. In addition, I was picked last year by acclaimed songwriters Desmond Child and Marcus Hummon to play fiddle and sing with a project called the Hummons that they were working on.
