Introduction: I started Compass Yoga to help make yoga approachable and easy to understand. I want to remove the intimidation factor, simplify the practice, and change the world. Ultimately, I want my students to feel comfortable with themselves. I want them to see humanity in everyone they meet. I want them to treat all humans with kindness, love, and respect even when it's difficult so we can collectively create a more peaceful world. I love watching people evolve. So many people come through the door thinking and saying they are not flexible and/or out of shape. Often, new students find that their level of flexibility or "in shapeness" is not what matters. I love it when a student starts to see the strengths that already exist within themselves.

I love it when Rebecca teaches class at my studio. Her style encompasses the perfect amount of encouragement to push yourself, as well as gentle reminders to rest when needed. Her clear voice is strong and steady, it keeps my mind from drifting and yet I don't feel like I'm being yelled at in a boot camp. During class, Rebecca has explained the postures in ways that have made them "click" for me, I feel like when I do what she says, even if I am still far from being advanced in the posture, at least I'm aiming in the right direction. Wonderful instructor on many levels!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My price for a private lesson is $75/hour for 1 person. If there is more than 1 person, it is an additional $10/hour/person. For example, a 1 hour lesson for 2 people is $85. The maximum I charge is $125/hour for 6 or more people.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to have a discussion with each student about their goals. I make sure to ask about past history (if any) with yoga and any injuries or limitations they may have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an E-RYT 200 certification from Yoga Alliance and over 2,000 hours of teaching in studio classes and private lessons.
