Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Music study doesn't have to be dull or boring. I've found that many teachers simply teach the books and don't take the students off the page and explain how patterns work, or how learning the concept for one scale enables you to play in all twelve keys. For instance, once you have learned an easy folk song like Twinkle, Twinkle, why not play it in all 12 major keys and in the minors as well? It can be so simple! It's also essential that each student be taught how to read quickly and easily. They should understand what is important in terms of new concepts and what is simply a repeat of previously learned information. I love my job because there are so many kinds of music... from Classical to Gospel to Contemporary pop music. Teaching doesn't ever have to be dull.

My dream was to learn how to play the piano, but thought it impossible since I have never taken music. I didn't understand how you can make music with all these dots on a page. At the age of 60, I thought I would give it a try. Glenna is the most caring and knowledgeable person you can ever encounter. She has the patience of a saint! I am proud to say, that her teaching has taught me to fulfill my dreams. She doesn't care how many times she has to explain something, she will do it until you understand. Young or old, gifted or not, Glenna will realize your dream of playing the piano. Give her a try and let her open the potential you have inside to play the piano, you will not regret it!

I took piano lessons 25 years ago when the goal was simply to play the note as written. I learned no music theory whatsoever. As a result I knew very little about music and never became a pianist. Glenna’s approach to teaching music has filled in the gaps. With an emphasis on theory, composition, sight reading, and improvisation I have learned more about music in the past 15 months with Glenna than in all the time I spent at the piano 25 years ago. She is very knowledgeable, intuitive, and fun! She tailors the lesson to fit the needs of each student and knows how to fix any problems the student may be having. There is never any pressure or feeling of failure with her. Every lesson is a rich, exciting experience in itself. I had almost given up my lifelong dream of playing; now there is no end to the excitement.
