Raul is a talented, experienced photographer who really understands lighting and background scenery. Flexible and easy to work with to schedule. Outdoor shoot was very well directed to get several casual and professional portrait shots. Edited and sent proofs rapidly.

I used Raul for a photo shoot. Something I’ve always wanted to do for myself. He was ready and knew exactly what my vision was. Superb turn around on images. Highly recommend!

Photography Lessons
I had my first portrait photo class with him and he was professional and explained the basics of ISO, FStop, and shutter speed in an understandable fashion. We started taking photo right away to bring home these points

Raul was a nice guy and was punctual. He seem to be working very hard during our impromptu photo shoot. I really wanted to have my son’s senior pictures taken down on my Creek, but he insisted on doing the pictures in the front yard and on my porch. We finally made it down there and took a few photos. Raul was at our house for 1.5 hours... not the full 2 hours stated. We took a lot of pictures and I thought we were going to get a lot of good shots. As it turned out the pictures were very average. I appreciated his positive attitude and his enthusiasm, however the actual finished product was not that great. Everything was handled through Dropbox and text, and in my opinion, he seemed very impatient if asked to retouch or send, etc... Once he delivered our digital photos, he basically chose the 10 that he thought were the best. He then quickly re-touched the photos. I felt as a customer who paid $325 for a professional product that we were bumrushed to be done. After receiving only the digital product, I ordered online eight by tens and five by sevens of Raul’s final photographs. Once the photographs were enlarged and printed, the actual touch up job he did in a couple of the final photos did not transfer well ... they were very blotchy and uneven. On the main head shot, the area under my sons eyes was extremely blotchy and he attributed it to the shadow of my sons fringe… Meaning his bangs… he refused to redo...Also on one retouch my sons ear is red - re sent it to me as finalized-I had to fix on my own. He just ignored my request for him to fix that. I basically just Photoshopped everything myself to make it look better.…I Contacted him and he refused to fix it, saying he had been patient enough. So I paid $325 for 14 digital pictures that were the same quality as me taking pictures with my phone or my daughter who is an amateur taking it with our camera and lens. Raul was just very off-putting in the final stages. I did ask for a few more poses, since my pose selection wasn’t that great, and I didn’t get to choose the final photos and that didn’t seem to set well with him. I wish him well, but not the quality I was looking for in a Senior photo shoot. Definitely would not recommend for a more intense photo job, like a wedding.
May 13, 2019VerifiedRaul Rivero's replyKendra. Thank you for your review and I’m sorry you didn’t like my own style, different from the previous 2 photographer you hire for your other sons. I just want to make clear some points of your review. 1) You hire me 1 week after the photo shooting, I knew about the job the same day so I modified my schedule for you. 2) You and your family are lovely, and I didn’t insist to take the pictures on the front porch, I just started there where even you husband said that he didn’t realize they have that nice view (Picture under the tree with the greens and blue sky). 3) The quote I sent you, clearly said “up to 10 final pictures and/OR 2 hours of photo shooting” at the end I took 200 pictures, I sent you 40 and you choose 17. (10 at the beginning and 7 more later without extra charge). 4) On my quote also clearly said “I will deliver the final photos via on line”, so I never promised to be printed. 5) You said that my photo quality is justa the same as your phone. Let me tell a you that technically it is impossible since the size of the picture sensor of you phone is 5.5 x 4.1 mm vs my camera sensor 23.6 x 15.6 mm. That means more quality. But yes..at the end a nice phone photo also looks nice. 6) About the spots and blotchy... Again I’m sorry you didn’t like my natural style. On outdoors I always inspired on the impressionist French movement. Painters like Monet o Renoir who capture the nature just like it is, with contrast and shadows. I tried to capture what I saw, I nice young rebel guy, without shaving, without a haircut and with earring and piercings, with a great smile, and life and happiness through his blue eyes. That’s Mitch personality, just like my work. All my clients, at any time before hire me have the chance to see my work at my website and Instagram.
