I couldn't have asked for better service. They arrived early and got everything set up before the guests arrived. They were both extremely engaged with the guests helping them decide what props they wanted for their picture. I would definitely hire them again for another event.

Hoss Mayfield puts blood, tears, and a lot of sweat into his work. His events are well-organized, highly researched, and very professional. He creates atmospheres that are above and beyond what you pay for. The bands that he books are Nashville-quality. I've been to several of his bookings and am blown away everytime. Your search ends with Silver Star Entertainment.

I would like to say thank you for Lori and her catering team for helping us host a wonderful graduation celebration at our home for about 36 guests. Lori came out to our home so we can brainstorm the menu, and plan out the event with great organization. She is a joy to work with and I have enjoyed working with her through the whole process. She orchestrated our celebration with calmness and grace. The catering staff she brought with her were professional and excellent. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the party and had rave reviews of the food and her team. It would be a great pleasure to work with Lori again in the future! I thank her for allowing me to also enjoy the party as a Host and made it look "easy!"

Mr. Webb was attentive and open to our requests. He provided options and scriptures. He was able to meet with us prior to our wedding, first as a consultation, then at the Rehearsal, and finally the ceremony. During the consultation he professionally and appropriately asked about our ceremony, what our expectations were and how we wanted our ceremony. He continued to communicate with us throughout the process and provided a script for us to review and modify. He was genuinely open to changes and additions. We met for the rehearsal and he orchestrated the event, meeting our needs and requests. He made soft suggestions where he thought needed. The ceremony was harmonious and well attended. We would recommend Phillip for a traditional Christian valued wedding. My husband and I are extremely happy with him.

Lori was amazing! I would definitely recommend her for your upcoming event. Lori was so well organized, communicated with me throughout the event and very friendly to all the staff. Many things changed prior to the wedding day, Lori was very flexible with the changes and even offered her assistance when I had only hired her for day of coordination. On the day of my wedding, she was on time to assist other staff with set up and preparing the venue. Having Lori made my day worry free, she made sure everything went as planned and even stayed to help my family and friends with packing up items and cleaning up. She is wonderful!

What can I say, other than "Thank you Legendary Events!" I contacted Jasmine approximately 3 months before my daughter's 5th birthday, to engage her for her services. By no means am I a party planner or designer so after a few conversations about the theme, cake design, flavors and guest list, I told Jasmine to "Just surprise me", which she did. The day of the party, we walked into the venue and I was completely blown away by everything that she'd put together. So much so that I cried tears of joy. I could have easily spent the same amount of money that I paid Jasmine to throw this party, and I still would have come nowhere close to doing what she did. Jasmine is extremely talented and I will recommend her to any and everyone. She is my Forever Event Planner!

Kari at La Chantal events did an amazing job on both my wedding and baby shower! From finding the perfect vendors to make our chic outdoor wedding dream come true to the amazing dreamy setup for our baby shower. She’s my go-to event planner. I really can’t say enough positive things about her. In both instances, she kept the stress that so many brides and first-time moms feel, with those events, from even affecting me which allowed me to thoroughly enjoy those days, but still ensuring our vision was executed perfectly! Definitely give her a try.

I used JC Enterprises for my college graduation in 2010, my engagement party in 2013 and my wedding in 2014. People are still talking about all three events and the service couldn't have been better! JC Enterprises is my go to for all my party planning and event needs.

Lauren is an amazing wedding planner. I hired her as a "day of" planner because I decided late to even get a planner. She was right there by my side the moment we signed the contract and I quickly found out that a "day of" starts helping you months in advance. It was a wonderful thing because I had a lot on my plate and needed all the help I could get. There was a few things I didn't have done and she took care of them for me in stride. For example: she asked me day one "what have you not done" the biggest thing on my mind at the time was the linens for the tables. So I told her and I didn't know where to start. I thought I would get some advice and instead she sent me a list of vendors and set up appointments with them right away. It was amazing! I was out of town and her taking that sort of initiative that quick was a huge reassurance I hired the right person for the job. Everything was that easy, even on the day of the wedding. She kept in contact with me daily and had answers for everything. What was even better was when I had to connect her to other vendors. The florist, Dj, photographer, etc., they all really enjoyed working with her. Some of them even added her to their preferred vendor list! They saw right away what I got to see day in and day out, she's detail oriented, organized, to the point, friendly, professional and knows a lot about weddings. She also comes up with amazing ideas along the way to help you save money. She did all of this, planning my wedding, plus held other jobs, it surprised me she had the same 24 hours in a day that I do with how much she accomplished all of the time. The day of the wedding was just as smooth with her as the planning process. She could tell when I would get nervous about something not going according to plan, calm me down and moved forward with a new plan. She really works well under pressure!! She even brought assistants on the day of and they followed her stride accordingly with no issues. I didn't get a lot of interaction with them but I had guests ask what company she was from because they could see the professionalism. I would recommend Lauren to anyone I know who needs help plannning any sort of large event (not even just weddings, she's that good!) . I honestly can't think of any negatives which is refreshing because she is the only vendor I had that experience with and that's almost impossible to find!

Clare helped to make both my bachelorette party and bridal shower absolutely unforgettable. For the bachelorette, she helped the group seamlessly navigate Playa del Carmen. She found us a wonderful condo in a great location, and she created an itinerary of just the right amount of scheduled activities (i.e. an amazing club crawl and an all-inclusive catamaran sail with snorkeling) as well as some down time. Her attention to detail both logistically and aesthetically made all the difference! The decor at both events was fantastic, and her calligraphy on my signage was beautiful. I would 100% trust Clare with my future events.

Do not let the appearance of a team of 3 fool you. I am confident that Amanda will make my dream day a total success! Out of all the planners that I spoke with Amanda understood my vision and is just as excited as I am to build the wedding of our dreams. On top of designing, she has a list of vendors working with The Event Group and is helping me to coordinate the entire event. We just started planning, but I refuse to do the event without Amanda by my side working through all those details that matter. Will definitely all before/after photos.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a wedding event coordinator do?

Pulling off a large, complex wedding or an elegant, small affair requires juggling myriad details, including the officiant, food, drink, wedding cake, entertainment, transportation, rehearsal dinner, photography, equipment rentals, venue reservations and more. A wedding event coordinator can help you keep track of these details, overseeing the planning process and managing everything on the day of your wedding. Each wedding coordinator (and wedding) is different, but in general you can expect an event coordinator to:

      • Help you devise a realistic wedding budget and hold your vendors to it.
      • Map out a master plan that includes all of the details including ceremony music, favors, the guest book and more.
      • Suggest ceremony and reception locations that fit your wedding size, budget and vision.
      • Suggest florists, photographers, bands, caterers and other vendors that fit your budget.
      • Negotiate vendor contracts for the best deals.
      • Create a timeline for the day of the wedding that includes each vendor and member of your wedding party.
      • Mail invitations and track RSVPs.
      • Answer questions about wedding etiquette and current wedding trends.
      • Manage the wedding day from supervising vendors and setup to handling last-minute emergencies.

How much do day-of wedding coordinators cost?

A day-of wedding coordinator makes sure that every detail of your wedding day goes off without a hitch, and deals quickly and quietly with any last-minute emergencies. For many brides, the day-of wedding coordinator is their best investment! The average national cost for a wedding coordinator is $800 to $1,000. Although full-service wedding coordinators often charge a percentage of the total wedding budget, most day-of coordinators charge a flat fee plus an additional hourly fee if the day runs long. For example, a 15-hour day-of coordination costs an average of $600, plus an additional $45 per hour if the coordinator works more than the planned 15 hours. Another option is to hire a coordinator to manage the last-minute details leading up to the event; for example, 25 hours of month-of coordination costs an average of $1,200. Several factors affect the cost of day-of coordination, including the region, the planner’s experience, and the specifics of the wedding. If the ceremony and reception are in two different locations, expect to pay more than if they’re in the same place. Also, extra details, such as managing food trucks or setting up snacks in addition to the meal, will increase the cost.

What should you ask a wedding coordinator?

When you hire a wedding coordinator, you want to make sure he or she gets you and can execute perfectly your vision of your dream wedding. To find the very best fit, it’s important to ask these five questions:

      • Are you available on my wedding date? If the coordinator isn’t available on your big day, there’s no reason to continue the interview — unless you’re willing to shift your date to accommodate their schedule.
      • What’s average cost of most of your weddings? If the coordinator’s usual wedding is outside your range, they might not be the right coordinator for you. Ask whether the coordinator requires a minimum wedding budget. In general, the wedding coordinator’s fee should be about 15 percent of your budget.
      • What is your speciality? Some coordinators specialize in day-of coordination, some create the overall vision, and others act as a producer. Make sure your wedding coordinator provides the type of services that will most help you create the event you have in mind, such as selecting vendors and handling their contracts, or managing the guest list and invitations.
      • What are your ideas for fulfilling our wedding vision? After you describe your dream wedding — rustic or sophisticated, traditional or funky — the wedding coordinator should be able to suggest appropriate venues, menus, decorations, etc..

Do you have a portfolio? Ask to see photos of their favorite weddings, especially if they’ve managed any that are similar to what you have in mind. This will help you see if you like their style and if their ideas seem fresh and creative.

Do I need a wedding day coordinator?

Even if you’ve handled every detail of planning your wedding, you might appreciate having a day-of wedding coordinator in your corner. Usually, the coordinator meets with you a few weeks before your wedding to put together a detailed timeline of everything that needs to happen on your wedding day. Then, on the big day, the coordinator makes sure everything goes according to plan — and handles any emergencies that pop up, such as party crashers, missing tuxedos, late vendors, disappearing bridal party members and more. Most wedding coordinators also handle:

      • Distributing the wedding day timeline to all of your vendors.
      • Coordinating all of your vendors, including the photographer, florist and baker.
      • Conducting the wedding rehearsal.
      • Helping the bride and her wedding party get dressed and take photos.
      • Checking floor plans, lighting levels, cake placement, menus, favors and more.
      • Collecting the wedding gifts and keeping personal items safe and accounted for.

Even if you don’t think you need a wedding coordinator, check with your venue. Some require that couples hire a day-of wedding coordinator for the day of the event.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
