Dog training type
Tammy was wonderful! She took the time to train us all and gave such great advice and suggestions that we can put in to practice. She is very knowledgeable and patient and I would definitely recommend her for any dog training needs.Sep 13, 2017VerifiedAll About Dogs's reply
Thank you so much for taking time to write a review. I really enjoyed meeting the 3 of you and looking forward to working more with you. Thanks for being open and willing to learn new things.
Tammy was great! She answered all of our questions and helped us focus on the behaviors we want to change. Her method is working and our dog is really responding to how we are training him.Jan 6, 2016VerifiedAll About Dogs's reply
Thank you so much for taking time to write a review. It was so nice to meet you. Keep up the good work!
Tammy is very good with animals. She gave us a lot of useful information to help us in working with our dogs. The sessions worked more with the owners than dogs. Just keep in mind it will be up to the owner to do the training not the All About Dogs staff. We were wanting someone to work with our dogs and train them and for us to reinforce what they were taught. In 2 sessions this was not an obtainable goal. We are happy with our start but have a long way to go.Sep 4, 2015VerifiedAll About Dogs's reply
Thank you so much Karen for taking the time to review my services. Unfortunately, I am not able to do board and trains in my home right now. However, I can private message you a couple of trainers that I do highly recommend and that I know are positive based and that your babies would be well taken care of with. Inter dog aggression in the household does take a lot of work. I will email you a couple of options that might help you out.
I was very disappointed in this experience with Tammy. I spent $130 for a consultation and got nothing but insults. First she insulted me by telling me that she could not train a dog unless they ate 5 star food. I guess Purina ProPlan & Rachael Ray Nutrish food is not good enough, and secondly she tried to tell me (an experienced retired Biology & Animal Physiology teacher) how to pet and massage my dog! That is all I got for my 130 dollars. And then she tried to insinuate that my dog could not learn to walk on a lease because she needed medication. I have the sweetest dog in the world, and resented the implications and insults that were thrown in my direction. Tammy actually never even tried to walk my dog, as my dog was very stressed out in her presence. The ONLY way that Tammy attempts to train a dog is by using food treats. You can get that type of training in PetSmart, I expected a real professional for this price!, and certainly did not get that quality and knowledge...very disappointing, don't waste your money.Jan 24, 2016VerifiedAll About Dogs's reply
Linda I am so sorry that you found our experience unsuccessful. I feel bad for you but even more sorry for your dog. I understand now why I was your 4th trainer. I have never seen a more shut down dog. I try to be very professional with my clients but I am going to address your comments. 1. I did not suggest that you change foods - only gave you a website to make sure yours was a good quality food. 2. Your dog was very, very stressed and I suggested several things including massage and a visit to a veterinarian behaviorist - who you called and rejected everything they said also. 3. We did take your dog out on a leash but the equipment you had would not stay on due to the extreme stress of your dog. 4. We do lots more than food treats. However you rejected the idea of mentally stimulating toys, food, positive rewards of any kind AFTER telling me you did not like the more aversive trainers. I really hoped you would at least try some of these methods before rejecting them. It is always rewarding to see a case like this do a turn around but it looks like this one wont happen. I hope that you can find someone, for your dogs sake, who you can have confidence in enough to listen and try the techniques. Good luck.
Tammy is outstanding, professional, and personable! She not only taught my dog, but taught me tips and tricks on puppies and how to train them. As a first time puppy owner- she was extremely helpful! My puppy now listens to me and the nipping issue has started to diminish! Thank you again- and please use Tammy for all your dog needs!Aug 26, 2015VerifiedAll About Dogs's reply
Thank you Stephanie for taking the time to type a review. I appreciate it very much. I'm so glad that you learned a lot. It was a total pleasure meeting you and your gorgeous little boy :)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Absolutely! I continuously try to extend my knowledge by attending both live and internet courses, especially in aggression.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I wanted to get out of my executive position and do something I really loved.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I offer group classes but I also spend a lot of time at private sessions in clients homes. Usually it's behavior issues, jumping, barking, pulling on the leash, or dogs fighting in the home. Aggression between dogs is probably one of the hardest things to work with but very rewarding when/if you can help the dogs co-exist together.
