The only reason I'm giving a 4 star instead of a 5 star is b/c he changed the price after the project was complete. I was quoted and invoiced $250 for 5 fan installs. He broke the glass dome on one, so he had to go out and get another one (the fan itself is $60). At the end of the job, he asked for $300 and said it's b/c the type of light it has is harder to install than some fans. I should've sent him photos of the fan beforehand, but didn't think it made much difference. But, when he saw the fans prior to starting the job, he never said that they were more complex and it would actually cost $300. It wasn't until after the job was completed. I'm pretty sure he was just trying to cover the expense of having to replace the fan he broke. I highly doubt he would've attempted to charge $300 at the end of the job if everything had gone smoothly. It's fine he broke the fan...accidents happen. But, that is not something I should be liable for. Yes, he did go purchase the new fan w/ his own money, but I feel like he indirectly charged us more for the labor to cover the cost of the fan. I didn't really realize this at the time, so I went ahead and paid him the $300. And he did give me the option of still paying the $250, but I didn't want to come off like a jerk or something if I didn't pay him $300. So, yes at least he gave me the option, but when in that situation, one feels obligated and compelled to pay the higher amount. I don't think he was intentionally trying to rip me off or anything, especially since he gave me the option to still pay $250 as originally agreed upon, but I think in the moment, he just wanted to recoup his costs and didn't think as much about how it would be perceived. But, aside from that, everything was great and he did good work. I have no complaints otherwise. I'd use his services again as long as something like that didn't happen again...lol.
