Criminal defense: Constitutionally, liberty refers to the right to be free from unreasonable governmental intrusion. And, it is invaluable. That fact is never more clear than when you are arrested. Being jailed is traumatic for the person arrested and their loved ones. Arrests interfere with keeping jobs and convictions can jeopardize future employment opportunities. In some cases, convictions can destroy a person's right to stay in the United States or prevent him from legalizing his status to stay in the country. Because a criminal case poses a serious threat to your liberty, you need a skilled, knowledgeable and effective attorney who is experienced in dealing with criminal accusations. The attorney has helped clients with the most serious criminal cases, the more common cases including: * DWI or DUI defense * possession of marijuana or drugs * assault * theft * hot checks or forgery * burglary * robbery * evading arrest * probation violations * bond reductions, including with immigration hold * expunctions, non-disclosures Personal injury: Have you been injured? Maybe you're still hurting? Are the medical expenses piling up? Have you missed work and wages because of the pain? Or maybe you have worked, but suffered while on the job? Do you dread doing the daily, routine, household tasks and errands now because of the pain? Or perhaps your condition is preventing you from doing the things you regularly enjoyed before you were injured? And now the main question is, was the negligence of another person the cause of your medical expenses, pain, and suffering? If the answer is "yes", the law in Texas states that the injured persons may recover money damages as compensation for past and future: medical expenses lost wages or lost earning capacity pain and suffering mental anguish impairment disfigurement The defendant's insurance company representative, the claim adjuster or claim representative, has a whole legal department behind him/her, and the goal of "adjusting" your claim as close to zero dollars as possible. Having worked in insurance defense, the attorney knows their tricks and strategies, as well as those of the defense attorneys hired by the insurance companies. Whether you've been in a car accident or were hit by a driver without insurance (or too little insurance) even if the driver fled the scene, or slipped/tripped and fell at a store or other business location, get somebody on your side now! Civil defense: Many times, a person or entity being threatened with legal action or by a lawsuit has insurance which provides coverage. An example is an automobile insurance policy. When the alleged wrongful conduct is covered by insurance, most policies confer on the insurance company, both a right and an obligation to defend the insured person or entity. Typically, an insured's ability to choose an attorney is subject to the insurance company's consent. So, report threats to your insurance company. If someone is demanding money from you, and you don't have insurance or the insurance company has denied you coverage, to protect yourself, you need a savvy attorney who is experienced in filtering through the accusations, asserting all available defenses that apply, and getting to the bottom of the facts supporting such accusations, if any. Don't fly blind or take a chance of a case being mishandled by an attorney who is not a litigator. Divorce: It is a sad reality, but the truth is that a majority of marriages end in divorce. In many instances, the struggling couple is ready to part ways and have neither children, nor do they have any significant marital property. In still other situations, a spouse abandons the marriage or the married couple simply separates and lives apart for years. If you fall into one of the situations above, Texas provides a legal avenue to obtain a no-fault divorce when the legitimate ends of a marital relationship have been destroyed, and there is no reasonable expectation the couple will reconcile. Such a divorce doesn't have to be messy and complicated. And, It shouldn't drain the divorcing parties' bank accounts. But, that does not mean the legal process should not be followed and the case resolved properly And, in that respect, you need professional help. Even if you do not fall into the "no-fault" divorce situation above, the attorney has helped clients resolve contested marital property issues, as well as visitation and child support issues. And, he can help you too! Bankruptcy: You are not alone! Most of us have struggled financially at one time or another. But sometimes those struggles become a daily source of turmoil because of the harassing collection letters and calls at your home or workplace from creditors threatening foreclosure, repossession, garnishment or attachment. But you don't have to feel helpless...you still have choices! Since enactment, Title XI of the United States Code has provided a very powerful legal tool for people who are struggling - just like you - to lift the financial burden off their shoulders. The U.S. Supreme Court described the purpose of bankruptcy as follows: "[I]t gives to the honest but unfortunate debtor...a new opportunity in life and a clear field for future effort, unhampered by the pressure and discouragement of preexisting debt." Local Loan Co. v. Hunt, 292 U.S. 234, 244 (1934). More recently, the Bankruptcy Judges' Division also commented on the role of bankruptcy protection: "A fundamental goal of the federal bankruptcy laws enacted by Congress is to give debtors a financial 'fresh start' from burdensome debts." Bankruptcy Basics, December 2009 [emphasis added]. Do you need a fresh start? Don't stick your head in the sand and try to wish the creditors away! Don't wait until you reach the end of your rope! Because you have choices! Take a stand against your creditors and regain your piece of mind. Take back your life with the protection of these powerful laws and professional legal help. You cant take back control over your financial future. Stop foreclosures! Stop repossessions! Stop garnishments! Stop attachments! Stop the creditors in their tracks!
