I've known Pam since college days, so we've shared everything from European concert tours to hacking out the NY Times crossword between classes.
As a person with a big-picture soul and a detail-oriented brain, Pam's writing is clear and compelling and full of little asides that pull a person in. Pam draws upon a huge body of experience and knowledge (don't get her started on Russian poetry or Italian opera - or a dozen other subjects) through which she sees a larger world, a world in which she can cleverly and delightfully surround the reader.
Pam is energetic, wide in her experience, committed to her task, and tenacious about getting things right . . . and a hoot to be around, both in person and in her writing.
