FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It seems I have always had some kind of outlet for being creative in some way. I make jewelry, cards and of course do some light interior decorating for clients. It was when a friend decided to sell their home, years ago that I fell in love with staging. It has a more specific goal than interior design does. The end result, hopefully being the sale of a home for a happy client. I have a knack my Mom says.... for being able to see the plan for staging a home and how it will look better or different for buyers that view the home.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Staging a home for sale is most commonly requested. Most people are overwhelmed with what to do in order to prepare their home for buyers to see. I like to work with what you have already in your home and make suggestions for up grades, but only if necessary. It is much easier for someone like me to come into your home objectively and not have a personal bond to the decor in the home.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Went into a home in my neighborhood, had been on the market for about 3 months. No offers had been made. I made some suggestions for each room. De-personalizing was first on the list. Some cleaning up and moving furniture around. I must say, the house looked so different after the changes. Much roomier and brighter. Needless to say, the house sold the next month for right about the asking price. Great success story!!! Right in my own neighborhood as well!
