Mark makes one feel very comfortable to work with. Re-designed a one story 1930's 800sf single family tear down into a modern design 2 story single family residence. Very detailed with his design. Design was a great success in that the finished product generated a $200K equity for the buyer. Would like to see Mark succeed with his unique and successful designs. His design is more of an art, very special and everlasting.

Marcus Mckenzie has a great eye for design and an even better sense of creative problem-solving. He thinks about a project holistically and strives to use materials and methods that balance sustainability, beauty, and functionality. We have worked on the design of a couple of modifications to my home, and I've been consistently impressed every time a new idea is proposed.

I enjoy working with Marcus! Very easy going and his creative mind to design is very outstanding! Marcus designed a modern home that I built out. Never had any issue with him on anything. We were able to pull permits in a timely manner and get the house on the ground! Beautiful project and can't wait to do the next one!

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I painted a mural Freshman year in college and saw the transformation of space happen right then. So I went from Graphic Design to Interior Design as a major. I enjoyed the problem solving, spatial thinking, mathematics, as well as learning about Frank Lloyd Wright. I then switched to architecture and never looked back.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I do fully believe in the celebration of life, so if you aren't excited after one round of design then the designer is not doing their job and it is time to part ways.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Having patience early in the creative process can save you unbelievable amounts in the future. Invest in a good designer. We are trained to think about spatial, material, and energy efficiency, as well as provide aesthetic solutions (read that as "resale value"!).
