Phil is so fun! He plays some awesome deep cuts and is never shy about putting on the hits when the people want 'em. Down to earth, professional, and very funny. Hire him!Jul 20, 2018
Phil had dj’d two parties for me, and he did an amazing job with choosing records that matched the vibe and occasion. He’s a really great do with excellent taste in music who can adapt his choices to perfectly fit the party!Mar 15, 2018
Phillip did a fantastic job DJing my wedding last spring. I gave him a sample of the kind of music we wanted and he used it create a perfect set list for the evening. He was punctual and great at communicating in the months beforehand as well. He couldn’t have done a better job!Mar 14, 2018
Phil DJ'ed our wedding! He was KILLER; we couldn't have asked for anything more. Professional and Punctual: Phil came with all of his gear and set up quickly while all the things were being set up for the ceremony and reception. He was flexible, and knew exactly what needed to happen for sound to be on point throughout our big day. Prior to our wedding day, he made sure he had what was needed so that he could nail down our music vision. He asked for a playlist and downloaded each song ahead of time. He even enriched the sound quality - it is clear he takes music and sound seriously and this was so appreciated! Our ceremony and reception were held in two different places. He came early to test the outdoor speakers - because these were venue speakers and synced all of his audio to this. Responsive: He was super accommodating - see above. Work Quality: He balanced guest requests with songs we'd requested he played, and songs that he included to make the event a success.Apr 8, 2018

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I arrive two hours before I have to play any music and you do not pay for set-up or take-down time. I require a signed contract for bookings with a $150 non-refundable deposit. For events that are more than 60 miles from my home in Northwest Austin, I charge a $50 travel fee. My pricing includes*: A P.A. (Two Turbosound Milan M-15s) A secondary P.A. (for weddings only) Two turntables (Technics 1200s) A DJ mixer One crate full of 12"s and LPs and one case of 45's (**read below if you'd like for me to bring more) Serato (for DJing with digital music files) Two laptop computers (one as a back-up) Microphones: One corded microphone, one wireless handheld microphone, and one lapel microphone (for weddings only) Two dancefloor lights on a lighting tree * There are not any additional fees for gear unless you need something that I typically don't provide like karaoke, uplighting, or a fog machine. ** If you want a "vinyl bar," where I bring an additional bin and a half of records and invite party guests to look through them and make requests, it's an additional $150. I always bring some records to my gigs, I just don't always run a vinyl bar.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? When I am contacted by a new customer, I will schedule a phone call or in-person meeting to discuss the event organizer's needs, tastes, and logistics. I require a signed contract and non-refundable $150 deposit for any event I am hired to perform at. After a contract has been signed, I'll send the client a music request checklist, which serves as my guide for what music I should play (and what not to play) at the event. Clients can also send Spotify or YouTube playlists. In preparation for each event, I acquire and organize the requested music from the checklist (if I don't already have it) and, while I'm DJing an event, I stick closely to the music that the client has requested. Contracted clients can always contact me by phone, text, or e-mail and I like to schedule "week-of" phone calls to go over an event's timeline and music selections.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I've been DJing parties for 14 years. I've played at least 30 weddings, multiple clubs in Austin and The Bay Area, school functions, fundraisers, house parties, dorm parties, retirement parties, birthday parties, and more. I'm a current resident at Plush nightclub (third Sundays) and I contributed equipment and marketed the BYOV events at The Buzz Mill. I also accept DJ gigs from several other event companies in Austin and one venue.
