Introduction: Prof. Alex Doctor of Education, Linguist, Professor of English as a Second Language, American Accent Coach. 20 Years of Teaching American Accent! ⠀ ⠀ 🔰for Non-Native Speakers ⠀ ⠀ 🔰for Native Speakers (pathology) ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 🔰for Corporates (authorized by SAM.GOV) ⠀ ⠀ ⠀When students start learning English, they pay too much attention to Grammar and Vocabulary at the expense of Pronunciation. This way, students start using sounds of the native language to speak English. This sound replacement creates an accent. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀American Accent Program was designed to help speakers of English as a Second or Other Languages learn proper pronunciation of American English. In these classes, ⠀ ⠀ ✅ You CAN understand how to pronounce American Consonants and Vowels more effectively using 2D Sound Motion Technology; ⠀ ⠀ ✅ You CAN practice your pronunciation with the phonetic exercises, practice sentences, and paragraph practices to create a habitual manner of American speaking; ⠀ ⠀ ✅ You CAN use American Emphasis, Intonation, Rhythm & Melody to create speech flow; ⠀ ⠀ ✅ You CAN speak American contractions and reductions, assimilations, and sounds interaction. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀TO THE STUDENT Welcome! ⠀ ⠀ ⠀I have worked with many Universities and schools, observing many classes that teach pronunciation worldwide. However, very few address facial muscle training, sound explanation using ADVANCED 2D technology, and work mindset toward learning a new language. A confluence of these techniques will help you UNDERSTAND American Phonetics effortlessly. You will compare the difference between your native language pronunciation and the American one, allowing you to learn the American sound system quickly and more EFFICACIOUSLY. Most teachers providing pronunciation classes do not know these "language techniques," and they simply "give a lecture to you." ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ THREE STEPS TO YOUR SUCCESS ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ➰Individual Approach➰ My students' success matters: that is why I establish a solid and kind partnership with all my students, regardless of whether they take classes online or privately. Individual approach and careful guidance throughout learning are essential for your achievements. I will help you set up a personalized, step-by-step learning strategy that works best for you. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀➰2D Sound Motion Technology➰ Today modern technology makes it easier and more comfortable for you to understand the sound system of American English. I use 2D Sound Motion Technology (SMT) to educate my students on how to pronounce the American sound. Not only do you get the explanation on how to pronounce the American sound, but you also will see what is actually happening in your month. 2D sound motion video helps you always remember how to use the sound correctly! ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀➰Intellectual Interaction➰ This is a combination of psycholinguistics and educational approaches that help Speakers of Other languages (you) easily perceive and adapt to the sound system of American phonetics. It allows you to change your thinking so that you can feel confident speakers of English like you are in your Native language. PS: ⠀ ⠀ ⠀I repeatedly see classes where some people call this type of training "Accent Reduction." I feel this is not entirely accurate for people's consciousness. It is the most important thing to keep students' diversity, identity, and personality; I don't want to REDUCE anything that speaks about your culture, traditions, and customs. However, I am adding new options that help you speak with confidence. Thanks for the privilege of your time, and I look forward to teaching you. Yours, Prof. Alex

Alex is AMAZING! His teaching methodology makes it easy for me to understand how to enunciate the words and helps me in my daily communication. The sessions are also delightful! Alex is friendly, organized, has an expontaneous personality, and has contagious energy! I can see my English/communication skills improving after a few sessions; he uses logic for teaching and guides me to a place I feel comfortable learning. I also feel secure receiving feedback on where I need to work. His sessions are one of the best investments I could make for myself!!! Thank you, Alex, for helping me with my pronunciation and confidence!

I moved to America from Burma where I was not very familiar with the English language. Then, I met prof Alex, he taught me very details about consonant and vowel sounds. He made difficult things easier so that I can understand and remember. It was his hard work and my dedication that made me learn English in a few months. Now, I was confident and much better able to speak with other people. I would recommend prof Alex for anyone who needs to learn American accent.

I am an Italian speaker, and I struggled with my thick accent for many years until I met Dr. Alex Obskov. In the orientation session, he listened to all my concerns, pointed out what we would focus on the most, and built a personalized program that worked for me. Since our first meeting, he built a strong and trustful “student-professor” relationship that made it easier for me to reprieve and learn the sounds of English! I have never SEEN such a program before – working on adding the sounds of English which gave me an amazing pronunciation already 3 months of work. I recommend to take this course because of Prfo. Alex Obskov's teaching philosophy and personalized educational approaches that he developed to help learning English pronunciation. I overcame the fears, doubts, and concerns I had in my head, and I am so happy to speak English confidently Thank you so much, Dr. Obskov, and much success!

It feels so amazing when people stop asking me to repeat! I am finishing American Accent Program, and Alex has been guiding me during my learning. He is a professional linguist, and in the orientation interview, he pointed out the most important issues we had to focus on were English rhythm and intonation that I had struggled with for many years speaking English; German is absolutely different. Alex applies many educational techniques to teach pronunciation, and each class is new, not like it was last week. I never thought it would be the main thing in learning; however, it makes much sense for me now because each sound is an "individual." Learning pronunciation is a long-term relationship with your coach, but it is WORTH it! I "invested" in myself, and I thank Alex for teaching and guiding me, for being there for me when I was about to give up, and for the amazing time I spent learning. He is a very open-minded, intelligent, highly-educated, and kind person! I HIGHLY recommend his program to anyone who wants to speak English CONFIDENTLY!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    * then pricing depends on customers’ need and ability to pay: reimbursement, Corporate Financial aids, out of the pocket. In the orientation interview, we will discuss what payment would be applied. Feel free to ask questions. Cancelation policy 24 hours. After the job is confirmed, you agree to these conditions.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY: My teaching philosophy as a professor of English as a Second or other Languages is based on a deep belief in encouraging and stimulating the cognitive students' activities. I create an environment to establish a learner-centered approach that helps students speak English confidently, adapt to a new environment, and succeed in their professional way. I prepare lesson plans, always considering the interconnection between the students' knowledge, culture, and learning abilities. Choosing relevant content and activities for my students is always significant and challenging, which helps them leave their "comfort zone," stimulate creative thinking, and desire to "go the extra mile."I developed and implemented interactive educational approaches to teaching English as a Second language which are always central to my teaching philosophy to promote reflective thinking and improve students' communication and intercultural skills. I always think forward to using innovative technology in the learning environment. It is one of my favorite ways of teaching English and my most extensive interest in life. Learning how to integrate new technology is key to staying relevant and engaging with students and faculty. I use technology daily in the classroom. For example, I use 2D Sound Motion Technology to teach the pronunciation class. I created this technology to help my students understand the sound system of American English and master their speaking abilities in everyday life communication. Each sound is represented with a specific 2D posture motion that enhances their critical thinking and helps to understand the difference between the native sound system and an American one. Not only is it essential to educate students as a one-way "role-play, but" it is also necessary to learn from them. I see the learning process as a two-way "street:" Give each student personal attention and become acquainted with their educational and sometimes individual needs. I also try to ensure that my interaction with students contributes to their sense of confidence. This way, I have found that learning from students is one of the most rewarding aspects of teaching while offering students the benefit of my knowledge and experience as my goal as a teacher is to help my students achieve their goals. To do my best, I create a motivating and positively-trusted learning environment based on honesty, acceptance, and mutual respect. I am confident in providing the skills and tools necessary for success and fostering each student's individual talents, giving them the confidence to embrace their dreams and make the reality.
