Janice is terrific! Great communications skills, and she was very responsive to what specifically I wanted to learn. Her years as a teacher really show. I'm not very computer literate, and she was very patient and understanding.Apr 24, 2018VerifiedI'm not a Geek.com's reply
Thanks for the kind words!
Flexibility. Janice follows the student's needs, answering in an appropriate way to the questions, w/o forcing her needs/preferences on the student. If she doesn't have an answer, she'll look into it and deliver it either via e-mail or at the following lesson. Daniela de FalcoMay 9, 2017Verified
I would highly recommend Janice for all your computing help. She is knowledgeable and flexible to tailor your training to whatever you need to learn.Apr 5, 2016Verified
Janice is very kind & encouraging. I felt comfortable the first time I talked to her on the phone. Janice understands that many adults my age are not as proficient with computers as our children are. Janice is easy to work with & very knowledgeable. I will continue to take classes with Janice until I feel like my computer skills are up to speed.Jun 11, 2016Verified
Very nice personality for helping people with computer skills, whether a beginner or someone who wants to upgrade. JGAug 14, 2015Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My regular charge is $40 an hour. There are a few people who "subscribe" to me for $40 a month and can call when they are stuck. If their issue takes more than an hour I may ask for more than the $40, but often people just need a few minutes to get back on track.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? In the past I would schedule 1 hour and meet them, usually at their home and they would show me what they wanted to learn and then I would have them "drive" the computer while I guided them. That way we could go at their pace. Now I work only remotely. I still schedule 1 hour (a try out) and then follow the same plan. The difference is that they have to give me permission to connect remotely first.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I take some online courses and do regular reading. If there is a problem I cannot solve I learn how to do it. I write a semi-weekly blog helpimnotageek dot blogspot dot com and often do research on the subjects I write about.
