He tore down a flower bed rock retaining wall and hauled off, put down metal edging, cleaned beds and mulched. Great job, very efficient and accommodating. Very reasonable price. I am very pleased to recommend him!
They were very prompt, polite, and professional. They gave a great job for the price - Bladimir patched/repaired 3 drywall issues on walls/ceilings. I would recommend them for further work.
We updated our kitchen which included repainting of our kitchen cabinets to white. Rolando was referred to me by a friend who had used him in the past. Rolando gave us what we thought was a good price to remove all cabinet doors, tape up and cover everything that was not getting painted, and even included a new wall paint color. We are SO please with his timeliness to get us a quote, the time it took to get him booked and most of all how gorgeous our new kitchen looks. I work in the real estate profession and I will definitely recommend him for future jobs for myself and realtors who may ask me if I know of a painter!!!
In a nutshell: Hire the man. You won't be sorry. I wish every tradesman I hired was this good. We hired Javier Cortes to replace some drywall in our kitchen that had water damage. A couple cabinets had to be removed from the wall, under-cabinet lighting removed, drywall removed, insulation removed, area treated against mold, new insulation installed, new drywall, tape & float, texture, cabinets re-installed and under-cabinet lighting re-installed. The job consumed two and a half days. Mr. Cortes is very courteous, conscientious and professional. He showed up EXACTLY when he said he would and worked steadily, every day. He delivered EXACTLY what he promised; he's thorough and his craftsmanship is impressive. He brought every tool he needed to the work site. He protected the work area very well (drop cloths, masking tape, contractor's paper) and cleaned up after himself every day, leaving the surrounding area tidy and clean. The area of wall he repaired is now indistinguishable from the rest, and he re-installed our cabinets so well you'd never guess they were ever taken down. He even re-caulked between the cabinet molding and the ceiling/wall. I'm a detail freak, and sometimes I've hired other tradesmen who had to be followed around and reminded to take care of details, but certainly not this time. Mr. Cortes just does it right the first time, zero prompting required. He gave us a [very reasonable] ballpark estimate in advance, but we all understood that it wasn't possible to know exactly what would be required until he'd gotten into it. As it happened, the work required was more than originally expected, but the total charges remained very reasonable for the amount of work he did. You can hire Javier Cortes with complete confidence that if the scope of work grows beyond original expectations, he'll handle the situation professionally and treat you fairly.
Manuel and his team did such an amazing job on my daughters nursery ceiling and walls! The walls and ceiling are absolutely perfect, and as an interior designer by trade, I have high standards. My husband and I are hoping to build a home this fall and plan to contact Manuel again for all the drywall in the new house. Not only is the finished quality top notch, but they also took precautions to make sure the room was taped off to reduce dust from getting all over the rest of the house. Highly recommend.
Whole house interior painting including popcorn ceiling removal as well as painting kitchen cabinets. Good and efficient crew with reasonable pricing. Ms. Ross, the owner has design background and excellent advice on what works well in color selections. Very good attention to detail. In addition to painting, she produced a very competitive bid for tiling ~740 sq feet 12x24 of floor tiles. The tiling crew she provided installed the tile first with good preparation then installed tiles with very fine grout lines as requested. Overall, very impressed and would hire again for future work.
Rene and his crew did a great job for us. Had exterior leaks in a couple places and needed to patch/repaint water damage to interior walls. He identified the issues, made repairs, treated for mold and fixed up the walls. Friendly, courteous and responsive.
I hired Bud (a referral from my brother) to repair extensively the exterior of my home, paint and patch my interior ceiling. His attention to detail is pretty extraordinary! I travel alot for work and it was beyond comforting to know that I could completely trust Bud and his team to do the work while I was gone, no question! He even gave small jobs to my 19 year old son with disabilities, way above and beyond! Thank you Bud! I am saving my $ to have Bud build a tiny house in back. If you need help with a project, Bud is the guy.
I needed to have 16 linear ft of interior wall removed to open up the house. Additionally, there would be new drywall and repair requirements, flooring, and paint to finish the project. Jim was not the cheapest of the 3 quotes that were offered, but, as an experienced home builder for 30+ years, he impressed, was methodical and scientific in his project approach, is insured, and the pictures of the work that was completed in his portfolio were great. The project did have scope creep, and the cost adjustments were transparent and fair. The project came out to my satisfaction. Professional, meticulous, OCD (it’s great for a contractor), polite, and trustworthy; both individually and in his resourcing and supervision of subcontractors for the areas not under his direct scope (floor and paint). I would also like to add, that during this project, I unfortunately broke my tibia, being immobilized till now. Jim was courteous, ensured area safety, cleanliness, and even when I needed personal aid (an occasional run to the fast food joint) he did it. He cares about his work and his clients.
We are very pleased with the look of our bathroom. Felipe was easy to work with and did his best to make sure we got the design we wanted. We received quotes from several contractor between $8,500 to $43,000. Felipe quote was not the lowest but in the range we thought was reasonable for our size bathroom. Our project had several set backs which were no ones fault: The tub filler we selected had a design flaw, which required some redesign. The sink drains didn't work the way we hoped and had to order replacements. The tub showed up with a crack and we had to order a replacement. Felipe worked with us through each issue and did his best to guide us to a solution. One of the great things about working with Filipe was the fact he knows some very good subcontractors. The company he recommended to do the show glass, did a great job at half the cost other companies quoted for the same work. Plus we got a lifetime warranty on the glass and workmanship. With every project there's always the 90/10 rule. 90% of the work is straight forward and fairly easy to complete. The rest of the work is more tedious and requires time. There were a couple of areas I thought the work could have been better: The pony wall tile was not cut straight and left ragged grout edges (picture). The retexturing could have been better if not rushed (picture). The caulking around the tub, particularly behind the tub was very poorly done. For the price, I really don't have anything to complain about. This was our first project hiring a contractor to do a project. We learned some important lessons. 1) Create a check list of work items. This will help make sure there are no disagreements on what is and isn't part of the contract. 2) Inspect the work regularly. It's only your fault if the works not done correctly. 3) Don't pay until the work is done to your satisfaction. 4) Get everything in writing including the warranty. I can't say enough how happy we are with the new bathroom. I have other property in Austin and I will use Felipe for future projects.
Chris did a fantastic job and was very reasonable in price. I needed several small things done and he was very accommodating in agreeing to get the materials and arrange comfortable times to do the work. He furnished the labor and material. Repaired a fence post, , installed new dryer vent, caulked sixteen windows, removing and replacing solar screens to do so. He sealed and painted spots on upstairs ceiling and down stairs rooms, painted the front door, garage door jamb and replaced sweeps on storm doors. I highly recommend him and look forward to his doing two rooms of tile for me in October.
Kelly Cobb is a great handyman / painter / remodel person. I hired him for a small job and kept him on to basically remodel the house and another investment property. Some jobs he did were: removal of popcorn ceiling, re texturing walls and paint after electrical work cut holes in drywall, bathroom tile - floor and tub, installing bathroom vanity, landscaping, kitchen remodel, exterior & interior paint on outside house etc. I would definitely recommend Kelly as he is a hard worker and can complete just about anything. I attached some pictures of just the kitchen remodel. I described some crazy things I wanted done such as the live edge bar and his idea for the stainless steel back splash, which he had the contacts for the custom slab (he sanded it, sealed and treated slab) and steel work. He also has other contacts if needed. Trustworthy, nice, fair prices and conscientious! If I ever need additional work or do a flip I am excited I know a contractor. When the job got really big I did use his recommended helpers. He also got along with the neighbors and some subsequently hired him after my job. Thanks Kelly!
Marvin was contacted me on here and was able to give me a free estimate the same day. He gave us a very good quote and was able to start the work the next morning. He and his partner removed some vinyl flooring that had been installed incorrectly and were able to recommend an affordable laminate that looks great in my living room. I was very impressed by the speed and efficiency with which he works. I explained the time crunch that I was in and Marvin was able to complete the entire job in just one day. The floors look fantastic and they gave a lot of attention to small details like the matching of our baseboards and transitions, cutting the transitions flush with each other and the wall, and they were meticulous in their cleaning. This is by far the best experience I have had with a contractor in Austin. I would hire him again and I would recommend him without hesitation for any renovation or remodeling project.
Let me preface my review by saying that I am a Jersey Girl and have an East Coast mindset in business matters: "Give me the bottom line; get in, get it done, and get out." COTC was referred by my roofing contractor and I was skeptical at first because of another review I had seen on another website that seemed to be a little knit-picky, but after getting a professional reference, I thought, "Okay, I'll at least meet him". James Wade made the initial contact by phone and I explained my Jersey mindset, which he adapted to immediately. He is a refreshingly honest, personable and VERY professional man who genuinely cares about what his clients want. The work for which we contracted with him was supposed to be for replacing sheet rock that had been water-damaged--according to our insurance adjuster--but James educated me on what damaged sheet rock looks like and we ended up only needing sheet rock repair. He kept me involved in the decision making from matching color of existing paint to blending new painted walls with existing surfaces. He set the expectation by giving me a quote that was only off by $11 and meeting the timeline of the work. The day after work was completed, it was not even noticeable that any work had been done! Besides the quality finish, I was educated on insurance adjusting, the difference between drywall replacement vs. repair, and we talked a lot about Jesus and our faith walk...which was a GOLDEN BONUS for me! Of note, he had hired a 2016 high school grad on his way to college as his assistant for the summer who was quite an amazing, conscientious worker, himself (Kudos to James for the mentoring of our youth). The depth of his character has already convinced me to hire COTC next year when we are ready to do a full interior paint job. I highly recommend COTC if you're looking for godly character built into excellence of service. S. D. Cornelius, Spring Branch, TX
They did a great job on my wall. However, they were late all 3 days of the job, and would disappear for long periods of time (an hour to buy a bit at the store, two and a half hours for lunch, etc). The wall is fantastic, they did a great job making the wall look as though it has been here forever. It was blended well and we are very happy with the quality of the job. They were also very polite and professional throughout the job. Took away a star due to the above mentioned time issues.
He was reliable, courteous, conscientious, considerate and skilled. He corrected anything that was not up to his high standards or mine. He always left a clean work site. His work was excellent. He removed ceiling fans, clad an exposed, laminated beam, trimmed the cladding and rehung the fans on a vaulted ceiling. Refinished three doors, installed molding around five doors, corrected problems with two doors original installation, installed door knobs on all. Installed baseboard in two rooms. Extensively remodeled an office including: Installed tongue-in-groove aromatic red cedar on one wall Custom framed three windows, two in aromatic red cedar and one in pine. Completed installation of a half-done bead-board ceiling Installed track lighting on said ceiling. Painted said ceiling and the pine window framing Installed wiring raceway along three walls to carry computer wiring. Added a duplex plug to one wall. Finished and installed a barn door on an office wall allowing door to slide open and closed without taking up room needed for office furniture. Did a beautiful job. Built a wheelchair ramp along an uneven exit to facilitate safe passage for a newly handicapped resident. I will happily employ him again. Thanks, again.
I have used A Frame Home Services for several jobs, including building a concrete retaining wall, tree removal, landscaping, and door installation. I have always been completely pleased with both the quality of work and the customer service. Honest and straight-forward, they are my go-to folks for everything now.
Anne has done many jobs for me, removed wallpaper, then textured, and fauxed my kitchen, master bath. She also painted a suede texture in my spare bath and bedroom. What sets Anne apart from others is her nack for mixing her own paints on site tweaking it to perfection. She even painted my wall plates in the kitchen to match the small stone accent stripe perfectly, you can even tell it's not stone. As an added accent in the bathroom, Anne painted a vine of flowers. Anne listens to what you want and if she feels there would be a better choice she politely suggests without being pushy or knocking your ideas. All jobs were completed in a timely manner and she cleans up after. Anne also can rearrange items to make them look like a picture from Better Homes & Gardens. I would highly recommend Eye on Design for any type of interior design. I've also seen her fix other designers mistakes with amazing results. A real talent since it's twice as hard to correct a color error than to start fresh. Anne truly has an "Eye on Design." I have recommend Anne to many of my friends and all have been extremely pleased with the finished work and the quote.
We hired Kitchens by Bell for a complete kitchen remodel (rip and replace). We removed walls, lifted ceilings, etc. Berts design experience shows very quickly as he was able come up with great suggestions on how to tackle some one off items. He's a very relatable person and showed great professionalism explaining in detail the tasks accomplished and the next steps with things to expect during the next phase. We're working on hiring him again for living room remodel next. Would highly recommend (in fact have many times).
Dwayne did a great job. He helped with finishing up painting of my interior walls I could not reach, replaced a light fixture, pulled and re-laid hard wood floor and installed my back door. He will be coming back out to finish a few little things I didn't have available just yet. I will definitely use him in the future for my other home repairs
