Suzanne is providing marriage counseling for us. Her gentle and relatable manner helps ensure both sides are heard, and heard correctly. She does provide us with valuable advice and "homework" to practice what we're learning. I'm so grateful she's providing us with a safe platform and necessary tools to communicate better.
Kathryn really helped my husband and I to understand ourselves, each other, and to communicate effectively with each other. She helped us to recommit to making our marriage work. I could tell from the first meeting that Kathryn was genuinely interested in helping us. Her personal life experiences and her expertise in human behavior and couple counseling were invaluable to us.
I came in for couples counseling with my wife, which is a tough thing to start. This was our first time seeing a counselor, and Melody was really welcoming and helped us feel a little more relaxed. We were pretty nervous, but Melody was so great in helping us get started talking. She is an amazing listener and is very patient. Her questions really made me think and helped put things in a different perspective. She made difficult topics a lot more manageable. Highly recommended!
Angela is great. She is teaching myself and my significant other how to communicate better and really boil down to what's going on in our relationship. We have been using what she has recommended and we are feeling successful. During our meetings she has always been open minded and full of great advice. She doesn't hesitate to ask questions that need to be asked. Scheduling is super easy and the location is nice and very accessible. Highly recommended for individual or couples coaching.
Went in with my husband for marital counseling for the first time. Kristal was great! She made mine and my husband's thoughts and feeling feel validated and heard. She gave us techniques to use and goals to accomplish. I left feeling very hopeful and have been able to use her techniques already!! Thank you Kristal!!!
The Watsons were the ideal marriage counselors for us, and the counseling we received went beyond our expectations. Not only are they compassionate listeners and full of wisdom, they also model in their own relationship the love, sacrifice, and spiritual devotion that they encourage couples to cultivate. Their approach focuses on identifying needs and tendencies in each person, and helping the couple better respond to them. They helped give us a language to communicate where we were both satisfying and missing those desires while always keeping love and respect at the forefront of our communication. The Christian framework they work within provides a rich reservoir of caring and forgiveness which was also blended with the best insights from modern psychology; a mix that is hard to beat. We continue to benefit from the Watson’s counseling in our everyday life, which is a testament to their influence and sincere warmth. (C&S)
I have worked with Joni on and off for three years, and once again, I have had profound shifts from the work we have done in only 8 weeks. In the 11 years prior to working with Joni, I had gone to counselling (for over a year each time), done self-improvement courses (some quite expensive, up to $8,000 in one case), done Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, seen a Jungian Analyst, etc. NOTHING has compared to the speed, ease and tenderness with which I get results from the work Joni does with me. I have relationships with my family which I never thought possible; I am more comfortable with myself than I have ever been and have an ease of being in the world which I thought was not available to me. I want everyone I know to have the kind of logarithmic breakthroughs I have experienced, all thanks to Joni, her patience, her kindness, her 'navigating' skills and her profound listening. She will get you in a way you are rarely 'gotten'. Do yourself a favor and sign up to work with her. The only thing you will lose are your chains. The world is a better place thanks to her!
Our family originally engaged Sheila to support my sons ADD issues and help him create strategies to deal with his struggles in school (in particular we explored Biofeedback Therapy). This went well but then my husbands sudden decision to leave our family left all of us shocked and spinning. Sheila started seeing both children to help them deal with the trauma of divorce and all the intricacies of the situation. While her focus has been the children, she has been instrumental in helping me be the mother my children have needed through this time. She gives me the space to make mistakes and kindly brings me back to awareness of what the children need, want, and feel. She has helped all three of us grieve and cope and move on to an incredibly fulfilling life while still holding all of us accountable for our choices. While Sheila is definitely a strong advocate for the children and their mental and psychological health, she realizes that the parents play a huge role in that and so works with everyone to meet the childrens needs for safety, love, and strong boundaries. I would strongly recommend Sheila to anyone needing support and guidance dealing with the challenges associated with being part of a family as either a child or parent.
We brought my young son to Doc for life coaching/counseling. He has severe depression. She has been a miracle worker in his life and he has made so much of an improvement. We see it everyday. Through it all we also have done marriage counseling with her. My husband and I were ready to get a divorce. We have been working with Doc on our marriage and have decided to stay married. They do not do insurance but she is worth every penny and a bargain at that. If she can get you in, I would jump at the opportunity to work with her. Not at all what I expected her to be. I have had several counselors through the years and always left the office feeling worse. She helps you face the issues but we have spent so much more time learning and laughing. She helps us all in my family keep life in perspective. Thanks Doc!
Dr. Parsons is a wonderful therapist. She played a big role in helping me sort out some challenges in my life I was going through and I can't thank her enough. I especially liked the CBT techniques she shared with me because they are ideas and exercises you can practice right away to see immediate changes, rather than going through months and months of therapy and feeling like you aren't making progress. I only saw her for about 5 sessions and feel like what I have gained from these sessions will last me a lifetime. I highly recommend her.
I am a therapist from out of town. On occasion I have had the need to refer people to therapists in Austin, and I found out about Sean through professional networking. I have received very positive responses from people I have referred to him, and in coordinating care with him, I have found him to be very knowledgable, professional, and responsive. I would definitely refer to this obviously talented therapist.
Rev. Julie cut through all the stories. She and got to the maladaptive beliefs by asking the right questions. I discovered things about myself that I had been hiding and affected my relationships with others. All this in one session! I now know how to work on my blind spots. I let go of the unnecessary anxious energy faster and easier.
Pastor Russ is a great guy with what I feel is a practical and true understanding of what Jesus teaches. He was my grandmother's pastor and she loved him dearly not only for his passionate sermons but also for the man he is. He's extremely down to earth. None of this "holier than thou" ridiculousness that many pastors seem to acquire somewhere along the way. That's not to say he won't give you a frank explanation of what the Bible says about hot button issues. He ain't scared. But he speaks the truth in genuine love. He pastored my grandmother's funeral very well and when it came time for me to get married, he performed very practical, bible-based marriage counseling beforehand. My wife who had only recently become a Christian was raised Jewish in a very irreverent home. Pastor Russ was great about being respectful of her parents but not shying away from teaching us what a Christ-centered marriage was to be. Our wedding was held in Arlington and he drove all the way from Cedar Park to marry us. At this point, he's become a true family friend, but this review isn't a favor. He's objectively very good at what he does. I wish his church was in DFW.
Worked with us and was very personable. We highly recommend Daniel for pre-marital counseling.
Elsa gave us the most amazing wedding ceremony. Our wedding planner even asked for her number afterwards because she was so good! She gave a beautiful sermon; so many of my family members complimented her to me afterwards. She really aims to give you the ceremony you want, and makes sure to ask the important questions to have a happy marriage beforehand. I can't recommend her highly enough.
I think my service stands out for two reasons: first, my style in therapy is authentic to who I am in my personal life; and second, my goals in therapy are for us to reach your goals. It is most important my clients feel comfortable with the therapeutic process. It can be intimidating to meet someone new and ask for help with personal and relational issues. I recognize this and believe the therapeutic relationship needs to make the client feel at ease. We will collaborate together to make sure we are on the same page in reaching your desired goals for your relationships. What is important to you is important to me. I do not have my own agenda to fulfill, rather I make your priorities my own in therapy.
I recently completed a certification class to become a certified PTSD Counselor. I've worked with families that were dealing with various issues, and I've successfully counseled Texas prison inmates, to keep them from re-offending.
I work collaboratively with individuals and family systems to access their strengths an find solutions that will assist them create the change they seek in their lives. This empowers them toward sustainable wholeness of being.
I take a very creative approach to helping my clients. My sessions may include simple art, mindfulness exercises and role-play. Of course, these techniques are not always appropriate. Sometimes, the perfect technique is talk therapy. Client feedback typically guides the direction of the sessions.
