- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I originally got my touch license to work as a Certified Massage Doula. I have worked with approximately 50 families during the perinatal period to inspire a more relaxed and natural birth experience.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with people who are in varying amounts of pain, often due to stress and/or a sedentary work environment. Our bodies were not meant to sit in front of the computer all day. I also frequently work with the opposite extreme: I have several professional athletes that are my long term clients. I specialize in deep tissue and sports massage.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask your therapist about intuitive touch. Ask them if they consider themselves an active part of a healing process. All people can learn the technical aspects of quality bodywork, not all people have a natural intuitive healing touch.
