I took lessons from Trevor Perrmann for about 3 years, and I have learned a lot. In that time, I had lessons from Trevor in Classical Guitar, Piano, Electric Guitar (everything from pop to jazz), and I also learned a lot about music theory. I've taken music lessons from 5 different teachers, and my lessons with Trevor were some of the most productive and fun in my life.

My son just turned 7 when he started piano lessons with Taylor. It brings so much joy to watch him play piano with immense enthusiasm in such a young age. My whole family has been very impressed with how he developed his passion and dedication through Taylor's excellent instruction. I strongly recommend Taylor for doing a great job teaching and building good rapport with his students.

I want to mention that we try a few teacher before we get to amir, and the experience was not so good. For my douter the guitar lessons with amir are excellent experience.

We are so glad we found Laura Jorgensen for voice lessons. We have three elementary school children all working towards auditions for an elite choir. She has worked with each of them individually as well as all together. Her focus on proper vocal mechanics and training in addition to knowledge regarding appropriate developmental exercises speaks to her professionalism and formal education. Our kids love the variety of music she can teach from classic standards, to their favorite movie songs, to international styles. We have been exceedingly pleased with our investment into lessons from Ms. Jorgensen.

I came across Steve while looking for guitar lessons for my son. The whole process of meeting, scheduling a free test lesson and helping me out to buy the right equipment made me comfortable from the get go. The best part is that Steve comes home for the lesson that saves time and is super convenient. He makes the lesson super entertaining for my 8 yer old and is very clear and concise with his instructions. Apart from Classic and pop, he is also open in having him try out other tunes which we like. I feel great about my choice to go to Steve for my son's music lessons.

I have been taking guitar lessons from Nick recently, and he is great! Very patient and explains things in a way I can understand. Doesn't jump down your throat the way some instructors do. Know he also teaches voice and keyboard lessons, and believe they'd be a good bet too. I would definitely recommend him!!

I took guitar lessons with Tim a couple years ago before he moved away. I knew his skill and talent from his previous work in bands and it was a no-brainer for me to go to him. His ability to assess where you are at as a student and apply the proper curriculum to help advance you in your craft is what you would expect from a quality teacher such as Tim. If you're looking to open your creativity, you can't go wrong seeking guidance with him. He's got my recommendation πŸ–’πŸ‘

I really enjoyed how casual or professional steven could be. He genuinely enjoys what he does, and it really shows when you take lessons with him. I myself prefer a more laid back experience and that is what he gave me. Highly recommend him to any one just starting out or with plenty of experiece.

I can't think of anything that could have made my daughter's experience better! A high school actress, she got bit by the musical theatre bug but had no training and little confidence in her voice. There is no other word but "uncanny" for Chantel's ability to connect with an individual student, intuit her strengths and unique musical tastes and objectives, and yet also inspire her to stretch and move outside her comfort zone. My daughter also took guitar lessons with Chantel's husband Derek and I would say exactly the same thing about his teaching -- plus he showed such a kind and generous nature whenever my daughter struggled to balance school, work, acting, etc., and wasn't so diligent with her practicing! Both Chantel and Derek really got this - and respected it - always tailoring their lessons to my daughter's needs and capacities at the time. I believe the training you'll receive from Chantel is as rigorous as you'll find anywhere in Austin -- and my guess is there aren't many places where you'll walk out feeling so good about the experience. Chantel and Derek's home studio is warm and intimate -- the *perfect* place to deepen your love of music and performance.

I LOVED taking lessons from Jay. He has an incredible way about him that makes you feel so comfortable and confident in your ability as a singer. He helped me conquer all vocal insecurities and now I am SUCH a confident singer. I owe most of my vocal accomplishments to this man right here. He is wonderful! An amazing instructor!!

    About

I have been teaching for almost a year now and I have turned this into my career with over a dozen students . I have been playing music in some form since I was 10 years old and I like to share my love for music with my students. I play both guitar and bass and have studied some music in college. I currently play bass in several local bands. I also teach occasionally at the Musicians Woodshed in North Austin.

I've been taking voice and guitar lessons with Kimarie for the past year and a half, and it is difficult to overstate how much I have enjoyed myself and learned in that period of time. The thirty minutes we spend together on Thursdays are almost always a high point of my day. Kimarie's amazing at adjusting her teaching style to her students' needs, and will give you exactly as much theory and structure as you feel you need to continue learning. Her feedback is always constructive, well-articulated, and clearly springs from a wealth of experience. I can't tell you the number of "A-ha!" moments she has led me to, nor how terrible my early songs would have been without her guidance. What you get from lessons with Kimarie is far more than a cursory do-this-to-accomplish-this. I've learned not only about music, but about the human body, its limitations and its strengths and how to overcome them (sustainably!) with time. She'll never drop some line like "feel it in your nose" without giving you as deep of an explanation as you need to actually understand it. I have drawings of the inside of the human head to prove it. (She's also great at drawing.) If you want lessons from someone who knows there stuff, cares about you, and is on top of it all a great person, look no further.

As an adult starting piano lessons again after (eep!) 3 decades, I have to say that studying at McLaughlin School of Music has been a very gratifying experience. My teacher David Mesquitic has just the right touch. He is able to both encourage and challenge someone like me who has "just enough" knowledge to be dangerous but not enough to have mastered certain essential concepts for pop/jazz piano. Huge props to Matt McLaughlin as well. He has created a very warm and welcoming space in which to take lessons and definitely paired me with right teacher. I am thrilled to have found the McLaughlin School.
