Pree does an outstanding job adjusting the workouts to meet my goals and drives me to work harder every session. I started training with only experience in cardio/running and I now have strength in muscles I've never had before. I now have knowledge of a full body workout and have a workout routine that fits with my lifestyle and goals. I would recommend Pree anyone who wants to improve their fitness and health/nutrition. Thanks Pree!

This was my first session. Joey knows what he's talking about. I've seen other nutritionists before but they always gave me literature and left me on my own. Joey showed me the facts behind what he was asking me to do. It's not going to be easy but makes sense. If you're looking for a professional to help with nutrition Joey is your man.

I’ve had Andrew as a trainer for about 4 months now. Since I started working out with him, I’ve lost so far 35 pounds. My body fat has decreased. I’ve lost inches off my arms, waist, and thighs, and have gone down 2 dress sizes. Also, my nutrition has drastically improved thanks to his guidance. I have a lot more energy now and my stress levels have definitely gone down. My family, friends, co-workers have all commented on how great I look and I have even inspire my siblings to start working out and eat healthy. What I like about Andrew as a trainer is that he is very professional, knowledgeable, committed, and genuinely cares about his clients. I love how he always changes the workouts so they never become repetitive and I always feel challenge. Also, he takes the time when teaching new exercises and always makes sure to correct my technique to avoid injuries. Even when I travel, he sends me workouts and is always one call or txt away when ever I have any fitness/nutrition related questions. Over the course of this time, it’s been amazing to see how my body has transformed and become healthier. Not only has Andrew helped me become physically and mentally stronger, but has taught me that it is possible to turn this into a lifestyle. I’m very grateful for his help through my fitness journey. He is a great trainer and I highly recommend him!

We had the priviledge of both Jessica and Beth prepare a complex meal in our kitchen totally designed to teach us the best and tastiest options for Moe's dietary needs. They described each dish they were preparing and the nutrional value of every well chosen ingredient They did an enourmous amount of preparation in the buying and then in the creation of a delicious meal for our enjoyment and knowledge. They havedemonstrated their expertise and commitment to create a top notch experience. We highly reccomend them both. Mission accomplished. Thank you Beth and Jessica. Rich and Moe

Aly is fabulous. She builds up the workout level slowly so I have always felt the workout - but never overly sore. Her nutrition counseling provides a very easy to use system that works and again - is not painful. Absolutely would encourage you to give her a try!

First of all words have not yet been created to express how amazing Ellie is. She is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Ellie has taught me so much about nutrition and if she can teach me a person who knew just about nothing about it she can teach anybody. She understands people don't always have time to do certain things and offers great alternatives to help you reach your goal. If you ever have a question she always has a detailed answer to help you. She is also very flexible with your schedule so if you can't meet up for whatever reason she will work with you. I could not be happier with all she has done for me.

      About

I have been involved in fitness and health for nearly a decade. I started with martial arts training and college fitness classes until I researched kinesiology and nutrition. I have been practicing martial arts since 2002. I took a break for college and then became certified to teach by 2009. During the time in 2005, I became familiar with sports science and the human anatomy. I also attended a college plan in health science from Victoria College. It was around 2009 when I became personally certified and began coaching clients independently at Pure Fitness. The following year, building my knowledge and experience in the gym, I compiled training materials from reputable and professional sources: Physique, conditioning coaches, seminars, nutritional science and health expos. The following year, I took a job at Gold's Gym and began group fitness. I, along with other trainers, created a program for boot camp classes that the corporate management decided to make standard for all Gold's Gym Express outlets. Along with this, I built a client list and trained clients individually. Currently, I am working on attaining accreditation from WITS that works with the University of Texas in Austin as well as nutritional coaching from Precision Nutrition. What I like most about being a trainer in an energetic, personal setting is that it gives me the opportunity to learn and be creative with programs, and it looks like this position would do the same. I feel that I could be a valuable asset to your team, and I bring to the table all of the skills that you require for a trainer and nutritional coach.

      About

I am a classic French-trained chef and pastry chef. I have been a nutrition therapist for more than 15 years handling all different diets for my clients. I am also an award-winning Food and Health author.

      About

My work stands out for several reasons. First, I have professional training in both nutrition and chef areas. This allows me to not only teach how to cook healthy, but to explain why certain food choices are healthier for our bodies than other choices. Second, I meet my clients where they are in their journey. Changing one's lifestyle can be daunting, and it is my goal to help clients reach their goals based on their needs, capabilities, tolerances and other factors. Last, my approach is very personal. Based on my client's preferences, skills, and interactions, I adjust naturally to a style comfortable to them while still remaining true to who I am.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
