"I am a classically trained artist. I recently moved here from Florence, Italy where I took classes at the Florence Academy of art. I have had my art published in books and have pieces sold globally including painters such as Kevin Berlin, or hop-hop arists Eleven, and Poison Pen. My pieces have been published in newspapers and magazines worldwide including HEEB, the Dig and the Boston Globe.
If you are interested in learning classical renaissance art, or just learning the basics of oil, watercolor, charcoal or even acrylic painting I am here to help. My usual style tends to be more surrealist, but I am more than happy to teach the sight-size techniques and to help you find your own style once I have helped you master the basics. All classes are private so I will be completely dedicated to you and your party.
Painting and drawing is not only visual, but is a form of therapy. I offer these classes for people to become technically proficient, but also to work through emotional and life stress. I expect that every piece that you create won't only be a replica of life, but life as *you* see it.
Beginning classes: I will teach you about the medium of you choice and how to actively work with them with your materials. This is really about taking what's in your mind and bringing it to life. At first, it might be a little frustrating as it is for most artists, trying to figure out how to translate the image in your head onto paper or canvas. However, after the second class I promise that you'll be able to create something that you love and will be proud enough to hang on your wall.
Intermediate: Let's hone some of your skills. Since you already have a bit of a foundation, I am going to take the first 30 minutes of class and see what you can do. This is going to focus on sight-sizing technique and the understanding of how light reacts with colors. You can tell me in what you're interested in learning prior to class and I will tailor the lesson around you. I usually get people asking me for the following: Nude figure painting, portraiture, architectural details. Depending on your interest, we can also start exploring some really interesting options for mixed media, and how to work with the amazing array of products on the market like the different stand oils, masking, linseed etc.
Advanced: Yes! Let's go to it! If you're advanced I am going to assume you've spent some time creating and I'd like to see your work prior to getting started. Usually, with my advanced students, I enjoy doing figure paintings and really focusing on the sight-size technique and how to understand the dissipation of light and color into shadow. These are the techniques that make paintings come to life. Further, I like challenging the more advanced students with intense still and live paintings. To understand action, light and how light reacts with color is to paint, and create real art. Lastly, with my advanced students, I like to work on some of the more functional aspects of making art like marketing and how to develop their website and a career.

I am happy to provide paint, and medium - as I will be teaching you the proper mixing procedures. However, it would be ideal for you to come with canvas and a palette. I have a wooden easel for you, but for more serious students - I would like to see you get a proper wooden easel. I am happy to give advisement on supplies, just email me. I get amazing prices for things since I often buy in bulk! I will be happy to provide all supplies at cost, as long as you let me know 3 days prior to class.
I enjoy figure painting from life, but I am really into surrealism. I enjoy oil, acrylic and watercolor!"
