Personal Chef

Where can I even start with Chef Abbey. First off, she is AMAZING and if you are in the Austin area- you MUST hire her to do a dinner. She was so easy to coordinate with, she was so accommodating and switched locations for us literally 3 hours before the event and the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Her associate was also fantastic. Anytime I am in Austin I will hire her again.

I highly recommend hiring Chef Abby!!!! I hired her last minute to cook for us at my best friends bachelorette party. Our plans fell through due to Covid and I wanted to do something special for the Bride-to-be. Chef was extremely accommodating. Out of 9 girls, 1 girl was gluten free and another wanted a different menu option for the main course and it was no problem. The food was amazing! All of the girls loved the entire experience. They even decorated the table for us and gave us a 5 star service. I will definitely be giving chef a call for future events 🥰

We hired her for our anniversary dinner. She did a great job! We had an amazing seafood paella with delicious dessert not too mention the appetizers. She was also a great conversationalist. Walking us through her techniques and ingredients. I would like to also call out that she also followed great safety practices (Covid and all). We will definitely be using her for future events.

We worked with African Violet for a Bachelorette Party Weekend. We had an excellent experience. She was very professional, warm and even helped us with decorating! She was a true blessing, highly recommended.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Pricing is typically dependent on the type of menu ordered, the number of people being catered for, and travel expenses. Type of service requested. I will however always try to work within my client budget.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    1. I like make contact (in person, email or phone call) and get as much information as I can about the event I'm catering such as; What type of event is it? How many people I am catering for? Is there an oven, sink or fridge on site? Are there any dietary requirements I should be made aware in advance? What type of budget am I working with? 2. I would like to know the clients expectations. After gathering information, I will get back to them with a quotation and menu for the event. 3. Upon agreement on the menu, I'd like to confirm a time and date for the event. Two weeks before the event is last time a client can make changes to the event, including a cancelling it, without it potentially affecting the fee. 4. I dedicate a day to purchase all the ingredients (if it's a cake i need more time). I prepare the food on the day of the event.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I have been cooking for 20 years in 4-5 star hotels. I hold an Associates on Science Degree in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu, and am just about to graduate in a Bachelors in Science in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management with Johnson and Wales University Online program .
