I implement training progressions and techniques used by the top fitness professionals in the field. My goal when I met Mike was to fit back into my "skinny" jeans, post pregnancy (after gaining more than 50 pounds). Through Mike's guidance I've achieved my goal, and so much more. I feel stronger, and my body is more toned than ever. I have more energy, and sleep better. Mike's home visits are ideal for mommies. We schedule our workouts while my baby naps. It's just perfect! Here are my numbers: I'm 33 years old, 5ft. 7in. We began working out together 3 months post-pregnancy. Within 12 weeks, I lost 20 pounds (144 lbs down to 124 lbs) and 4 jeans sizes (size 30 down to a 26). I still enjoy eating out and wine, and I'm never hungry. I am grateful beyond measure! I won't lie, Mike's my boyfriend, but he is a wonderful trainer and person in general. By just giving me a weekly workout and showing me how to execute the movements, Mike helped me lose around 15 pounds of fat in a couple of months, all while toning and gaining the muscle I longed for. He's a great motivator and truly cares about his clients, so much that he will continually check up on those he has not spoken to in a while, just to make sure they are staying on the right path. He can also provide group trainings at a great rate, which tons of my friends are now involved in. Mike's a sweetheart with a truly wonderful talent that will be noticed in your first session.

A few years ago I fell while hiking with my dogs in the greenbelt, and I have been struggling with knee pain ever since. Since my injury did not require surgery, I went through physical therapy for about 8 weeks following the accident. My knee got a little better, but it seemed like it flared up all the time since I had no strength left in it, which caused me to re-injure it on regular basis. I also tried acupuncture for a few years, but it didn't fix the problem even though it helped with some of the swelling. I started training with Mike several months ago because I wanted to start working out again and I felt that I needed the motivation from a trainer. When I told Mike about my knee and my chronic back pain, he came up with workouts that would strengthen my core and focus on the weak areas of my body. I am so pleased that today my knee is stronger than it has been in years, and it is completely free of pain. My back pain is now minimal, and we are continuing to work on it. I am so impressed with Mike's knowledge and the way that he addressed my particular needs. I feel confident that Mike will get me to where I am completely pain free and stronger than ever. It has been a pleasure to work with Mike, and I love the convenience of having a trainer who comes to my home!

I have been involved in basketball for a little over 10 years now. I have been looking for ways to improve my game since I first began playing. For the past 6 years I have been trying different methods to increase my athleticism in order to further accelerate my game. I tried numerous online jump programs that claimed they could provide amazing results. I spent hundreds of dollars and tons of my time and energy on these so-called top of the line programs. These programs that lasted from 16 weeks and some up to a year long. I saw amazing results in my muscle mass, strength, and power. Even though I was making gains here and there in vertical leap and speed, I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere near the results promised. I have been training for the past two years so that I could try out for an ABA team, with the hopes of one day playing for a professional team. I tried some local professionals who were known for training athletes of all levels in a dynamic yet effective training setting. The training was in a small group and it was like nothing I had ever done before. I felt the classes were great for overall athleticism, but didn’t really cater to my basketball needs. The training was kind of expensive and I was forced to discontinue their services after a couple of months. A friend of mine recommended Mike and said that he had worked with the University of Texas basketball team for a number of years and really knew his stuff. After meeting with Mike I could tell by his knowledge, enthusiasm, and attention to detail, that he could give me the training I needed to get to the next level. I was looking to focus my workouts around basketball specific training. I wanted to improve my movement efficiency, agility, court speed, court strength, and explosiveness. Mike gave me a workout that included the type of dynamic training that would transfer over to the basketball court. A combination of power movements, core training, agility and mobility drills, and some on court ball handling drills were all incorporated into my workout. After showing me how to perform each lift and drill properly while allowing me to ask as many questions as needed, I completed the first part of the program in four weeks. I was able to noticeable improvement in my movements on the court, after just a few weeks. I was shocked that I was able to actually notice a difference in improvement after a few weeks, after seeing very few results from years of training. Every four weeks I would meet with Mike to assess my improvement and add new drills in order to provide more advanced drills to accommodate my improvements. I have never worked with a trainer as thorough and detail oriented as Mike. After just a few months of using his custom made program I am significantly more efficient than I have ever been. I was known for having really good athleticism, but now I am freak. Before I started the program I couldn’t perform close to my peak level of ability for very long. I had a few bursts in me and then I was too tired to run as fast or jump as high. Now I am able to tap into my max potential more frequently, and for longer durations. I’m super excited to know that this is only the beginning. I can’t wait to see where I am after a few more months. The training has given me amazing results. To give you an idea of my improvement, I am 6’1” and I could dunk pretty easily before my training. I just found out yesterday that I could bump my head on the rim! The results surprise me, and I am the one doing the training. I just never know what to expect.

I came to Michael to learn how to workout again and to gain flexibility with the added benefit of losing some weight, however I must say that the weight loss was secondary to my goal of learning. As a former college athlete, now in my 50's, I realized that much had changed both in my abilities (strength etc.) and the methods used for training. I had been working on my own using a popular program (P90X) for about 6 months and while my conditioning improved I was not reaching my goals in flexibility. After 3 months of working with Michael I reached both my goal in flexibility and knowledge. Michael was patient and thorough in his explanations with the kind of demonstration and attention to detail that made the customized workout perfect for me. I easily and joyful recommend Michael Groth to anyone that desires to see results and gain the knowledge of those lifestyle changes necessary to hold on to a healthy and active life.
