FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In October of 2010 I was blessed with the opportunity to travel to Kanab, UT for 2 weeks to volunteer at the world's largest "No Kill" animal rescue, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. I worked with John Garcia, who is a famous animal behavioralist, known for his show "Dog Town" that had several seasons on Animal Planet. I've also attended the "No More Homeless Pets" conference in Las Vegas, which educates on the spay/neuter movement !
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Growing up on a small farm in rural southeastern Indiana, animals of all sorts have always been had presence in my life, and that is where my passion began. I was notorious for continuously being "in trouble" for bringing home all the neighborhood strays ! It got to the point where it wasn't just cats and dogs, but I would get contacted to be a surrogant for abandoned and injured wildlife as well. Over the years, I've fostered, rehabilitated, and released several baby squirrels, baby deer, wild rabbits, foxes, raccoons, and turtles.
