FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend photography classes and training as often as my schedule allows. I also subscribe to several photography-related magazines, journals, and online blogs. I network with other photographers not only in my area but all over the country; their work sometimes gives me ideas or sets off a creative spark. Photography is a field that changes regularly and you have to keep up-to-date, with both technique and technology.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always enjoyed taking pictures but when my oldest son was 2, I decided to try a seasonal part-time job as a portrait studio photographer. And I fell in love. Over the course of 4 years, I became a studio Assistant Manager and then a Studio Manager before branching out on my own. Now I am a full-time freelance photographer working for myself.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your research. Look for a service provider with a website. Just because the price looks good doesn't mean the final product will. Be sure you know exactly what you will be getting.
