Mauricio just left our office and he did an excellent job. Our computer was getting an error message when we shut it down every night and wouldn't start in the morning without re-booting it. He replaced the battery in our hard drive and vacuumed out the inside of our tower which was a mess. He was able to identify our problems quickly and patiently explained all the answers to my many, many questions. I am not a tech person by any stretch of the imagination, but by the time Mauricio was done, I knew exactly what our issues were and solutions to keep them from happening again. Thank you, Mauricio!!

In spite of the virus issues, he was able to deal with four computers and two printers on a network, by phone and Internet connections. I didn't think it could be done. Everything went well. The price was very fair.

Mauricio Ramos responded almost instantly to my Thumbtack Request for an IT Professional to come to my Apt & set up my new laptop & printer. He was able to come out to do this 3 days after he contacted me, which was exactly when I was wanting this done. He was clearly very experienced at what he did (as was indicated from the information on his website, IT Austin.) He set to work immediately, unpacking my printer & setting it up quickly with an ease that demonstrated his expertise in this area. He did the same with my new laptop as well. In addition, at my request, he transferred all of my iTunes music to my new laptop as well as all my photos. I wasn't sure if this would be possible for the music particularly because I didn't have the original cable that allowed my iPhone to connect directly to my laptop. However, Mauricio was able to do this even w/o this cable! It was quite clear to me that he most definitely 'knows his stuff' when it comes to technology! Not only did he figure a way to do this w/o the original cable but figured out a work-around immediately. To me, a person who is not at all tech savvy, he was like a genius. Bottom line - Mauricio did my set up quickly, efficiently & with tremendous expertise. He also charged a very reasonable fee for his service. He was friendly & personable while working, yet always remaining completely focused on the work. I will definitely be using him as my 'go to' IT Professional as needed. He also offers private computer tutoring by the hour & I will be seeking his services for this, particularly to help me setup my Dragon Voice Activation Software. Based on my experience you can't go wrong by hiring Mauricio for any of your tech needs!

I studied electrical engineering, specialized in electronics. My computer related work experience includes worldwide technology companies as Microsoft, Dell and Xerox. I hold several industry certifications including the Microsoft Certified System Engineer MCSE and Microsoft Small Business Specialist. I constantly attend industry conferences and trainings to keep up with new technologies.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I help small businesses, non-profits, home offices, and home users. I have helped them setting up their networks, repairing computer problems, server installations, Cloud services, virus and spyware removal.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Hiring an IT professional is not only about the provider's technical expertise, it also requires a good deal of trust as you will be allowing them access to your personal records, business data, etc. You may want to evaluate their professional history, ethic and conduct.
