Tom scripted, shot and edited a video for me when I was Executive Director of the Boston Schoolyard Funders’ Collaborative. We were involved in a public/private partnership with the City of Boston to design and develop sustainable multi-functional schoolyards for health & recreation, teaching & learning and community use. We were receiving requests for information about the program from other cities in this country and abroad and we thought a visual presentation would best convey our work. Tom was given an outline of the ideas we wanted to get across and he came up with a shooting script that had testimonials from principals, teachers and community folks but emphasized the kids in action who were, after all, the primary users of the schoolyard. Tom is a true people person who had everyone laughing and eager to participate in making the video. He shot several sites, attended community meetings, and was particularly good at capturing those candid moments of children learning and having fun doing so. I would hire Tom again in a heartbeat.
