I believe it is extremely important as a design professional to take on a varying projects to stay balanced and competitive in the business. I have over 16 years experience in the residential and commercial design industry in Austin and Central Texas. As an Austin native, I have an extensive network of colleagues and resources to carry out my design projects seamlessly, beautifully and on budget. I am a people person and I love the process of interpreting my clients' lifestyle and family needs. Extracting their personal style and mixing it with today's cutting edge design elements is what I enjoy the most. I thoroughly enjoy helping people make their homes and office spaces not just esthetically pleasing to the eye but functional and practical as well. I love the challenge of the integration of products that look amazing and meet the clients budgetary needs. But above all, I enjoy meeting new people and making new friends and lifelong clients along the way.

Shelley was absolutely terrific to work with. She was extremely attentive to our style and design preferences. She spent countless number of hours researching different materials in order to provide us with a splendid selection of options for each room of our new home. She assisted us in selecting all of the paint, plumbing and light fixtures, ceiling fans, tile for the bathroom walls and showers, and all of the flooring throughout the house. She even made a trip all the way to Boerne, Texas to find the perfect piece of dimensional black walnut for the countertop in our powder room. She periodically met with the subcontractors on site during construction to provide any necessary or requested guidance. At the end of the project, she assembled a beautiful pictorial room-by-room book for us that identified all of the finishes and fixtures selected. I would highly recommend Shelley to anyone considering an interior design specialist for their new home.

I can't recommend Shelley enough for her home staging and interior decorating services. I was looking to stage a home. I wanted to do it quickly and with high quality to take advantage of a market window. Shelley was always very prompt in responding to me when I had any questions, setting up her on-site assessment, making a quote, getting the staging accomplished, and was dependable and on time for everything. The staging is beautiful. Her skills are apparent. The house is now under contract and based on my experience with her, I highly recommend Shelley for this and for anything else she says she can do. She's been a pleasure to work with and is very good at what she does.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been a creative soul since I was a child, painting my room a different color every other month and rearranging my living room when my parents weren't paying attention and getting such a thrill from the pleasantly surprised looks I got from them. As a young adult I started out working at Pier One, Beall's department store and Foley's as a cashier and visual merchandiser and then took a big turn and became a paralegal. As a paralegal, I learned valuable skills that I apply in my interior design business today such as excellent writing, communication skills and time management skills. Eventually I realized my creative side took over and I developed a design business from an ad on my neighborhood bulletin board and my design career took off from there. I have been a freelance independent design consultant now for over 15 years and am living out the career of my dreams. I feel blessed!
