Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: With a Bachelor's in English, a Master's in teaching the English language, and 18 years of experience in teaching editing, writing, and public speaking, I am your Word Wizard. For editing work, I can work with you on any phase of your project, from the developmental stage to the copy editing stage. For public speaking, we'll make your goal a reality, whether it's to build confidence, develop a skill, or wow the crowd at an event. For English language learners, I will assess your current language skills and develop a customized plan to help you improve your fluency and accuracy. I believe that there is so much power in what we say and how we say it. In spoken or written form, our words can elicit an emotion, provoke thought, birth an idea. That is why it is so important for me to help someone find and express their voice. Flow of ideas, word choice, grammatical structures, intonation, pauses, body language. It all matters! Communicating with clients is of the utmost importance to me. Before beginning the project, we will establish goals, expectations, timeline, and rates. I appreciate your trust and will work diligently to deliver the final results you need. Let's do this! LGBTQ/BIPOC you are welcome and safe with me.

Jenni edited research papers, as well as academic presentations, for me. Her work was always high quality and on time. She was a real life-saver. I highly recommend working with her.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Pricing is determined by: 1) the total word and page count 2) the type of editing requested 3) a sample of the text to determine how light or heavy the work will be

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First, I ask you about your work. Why are you writing it? What is the purpose? How do you feel about it? Then I ask what you need from me as an editor. We determine what type of editing you need, and I inform you of my base rates. I ask to review a sample of your work and give you a formal estimate within 24 hours.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

With my first degree I built skills in literature and prose writing. With my second degree, and 16 subsequent years of teaching, I forged an intimate, eternal exploration of the English language. Teaching English to non-native speakers has made me a walking thesaurus and on-demand grammar detective. Years of this work have sharpened my language acumen. I am uniquely skilled at understanding the connotation of every word and the structure of every sentence.
