FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a mother of 5 (rambunctious, wild, and loving) boys, I was always left to plan our own theme parties since most party planners catered to girls and most party stores only had the generic "boy themes" (you know action heroes and uh more action heroes). Our lack of resources turned into our greatest A-ha moment and it has been magic ever since.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would recommend that you choose a planner that you can easily connect with. Someone that shares the joy and excitement of your upcoming event and can give you useful and valuable information. A true professional will be open and honest with you and let you know if an idea works or does not work for your event.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish customers were truly able to understand what all goes into planning an event. For a birthday party, I typically spend on average of over 80 hours planning. Once I am hired, I eat, sleep, and dream about your event. This includes brainstorming, implementing, and running around hectically from one store to another looking for a satin leopard print table runner or vintage perfume bottles circa 1920 (yup true story) but thats what I do! I go above and beyond for my clients to make sure their event captures their spirit and I hope that my clients understand those things. Planning an event can be costly, so be prepared with a reasonable budget for your event.
