How did you get started doing this type of work?
I starting working at age 11 to help my mom support my brothers. I really enjoyed the hands on work that I performed daily, being a part of the transformation. Seeing and creating a masterpeice from inferior conditions. I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up! Supportive of any path, my dear mother, taught me to become the leader in that choice. I will forever work in aims of that goal!! Love you Mom!
What types of customers have you worked with?
We pride ourselves in being vast in our communication skills. We welcome the opportunity to commit to any new relationship! Our customers continue to reach out to us long after the warranty expires! Our customers become our Family and we wouldnt want it any other way! In 17 Years of Business, 6 members have sadly decided to disown our family name, And 4 of that 6 were actual family or friend contracts gone wrong. We terribly regret losing their Business and friendship! That is why we aim to treat every member with respect and value! As to assure we do not lose anymore family! Come be a part of the Underdog Family!
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We are very proud of every job we complete! Although a full interior and exterior remodel last year rings in my mind! From plumbing to full re roof, and everything in between! Flooring, drywall, tile, cabinets, siding, paint, trim, and more! The job took 4 months to orchestrate full Electrical, HVAC, Carpet, and Irrigational Sub Contractors between our tasks. The before and after pictures are a wonderful example of the pride we take on every job!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure to go with a company that has been around your hometown for a long while, too many times out of area code companies come in and tie into a local number to get the work. But when something goes wrong after completion... They are five states away to stand firm to the warranty.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
What kind of material you want to use, or should use, versus what the contractor will use (non-standard / below quality) to maximize profits. That really does make a huge difference in giving an accurate quote. Also determining specific standards for which you are requesting. Google goes a long way for the consumer, and we recommend doing some homework before you choose. Although references are a good thing, too many times we have seen and heard of falsified or untrue subjects awaiting the call on the other end. Make sure that required permits are pulled as to protect your investment with the contractor you choose. It is always best to sign with a registered BBB accredited business to have someone looking after your well being as well. Is the Company Local, not just a local number? These days, its too easy to gain a number that is accessible to appear local. Ask for a social site to view, its much harder to falsify long term social listings. Finally, a Licensed, Insured, and Bonded Company is always a safer bet, and I say this with self mutilation because although we have been in Business over 15 years and done so, locally, and are Accreduted with an A+ rating with Insurance to cover your project..... we are Not yet Licensed and Bonded. They are currently pending at this time, and we will update our profile when offically sound. We have been the small town Ma and Pop Business for so many years, but everyone has to adapt to change, so we comply. We wish you a good-bid! and pray for your ease and satisfaction on your project! -The Dogs -
