Brad has been extremely helpful in guiding me on several issues. He has saved my relationship through his personal and cognitive approach - making both myself and my partner more aware of how to be better and more compassionate partners. I highly recommend Brad to anyone who is truly willing to use his easy to understand techniques to solve their own issues. He takes the time to understand you, your issues, and becomes a coach along the way.

Overall, my experience with Speaking of Life / Family Restoration Network was positive. My life coach was supportive and was a particularly great listener! He doesn't tell you exactly what to do but does a good job of guiding your intentions to align with actions you can take to take on a particular issue. He checked up on me periodically and offered suggestions whenever I hit any roadblocks. In short i learned a great deal that most solutions come when you learn to speak the life language of people in your life. All in all, would totally recommend. Thank you

I walked away from my coaching experience with a more keen sense of self and confidence in my strengths. Kelly had an innate ability to make me feel comfortable while also challenging me to leverage my strengths at work and in my social life. I left my session feeling positive about my strengths and with a clear direction of where I want to go next in my career. Great experience all around!

Lynda was a delight to work with. She spent time getting to know me and my family, created personalized color and style boards for us to begin updating our home, then proceeded to coach me through some areas I had struggled with for quite a while. What a huge blessing! I am finally able to feel at peace in my journey as well as in my home.

Melissa Walker is a really good Career Coach. She has a way of melding all the information she has learned from books, real-life experiences in the corporate world, and deep experience running her own business into a wealth of fantastic information. She was patient to listen and guide my thoughts through a series of probing, insightful questions that helped me improve my Career goals. I was recently promoted and believe some of the information she provided me helped with that process. I wholeheartedly recommend Melissa as a Career Coach for anyone who is struggling with challenges or just wanting to take their career to the next level.

And honestly, my resume is awesome so I'm glad I waited. :)

Mr. Charles Day provided me with EXCELLENT Personal Trainer methods, advice, healthier eating habits and goals of weight loss and toning for long-term health. I lost 100 pounds and it was a God send for someone like Mr. Day to dare I say, "Save my life". I am a Professional Career woman. I am Caucasian 55 year old and in a "Seaon" in my life called Menopause. This requires additional high maintenance approaches to stabilize moods and balance a healthy lifestyle in order to be proficient in my high profile career. Mr. Day is the catalyst who helped me accomplish this and guided me to better understand the achievements I was capable of in great strides. Mr. Charles Day would be an asset and benefit for any entity or profession he chooses for gainful employment. They will have acquired not only his skill set but also his wisdom, good nature, great sense of humor dosed with high energy and encouragement then seasoned with commitment, caring and a professional attitude while being a fine specimen of an example for many to follow. He has strong leadership qualities and will prove to be extremely successful at whatever he chooses to do.

      About

Do you know someone who is hurting? It is understandable why people who are hurting and experiencing problems in life might need a spiritual life coach. Do you know someone who is successful? What does success mean to you? Some believe that success is owning more stuff than your neighbor, having a significant other, being married, or being able to drink more than the rest! Some people think that individuals who are successful are lucky, they were born with a great talent, or they were handed the success on a silver platter. Does success just happen or do certain people have certain characteristics that help them develop into successful people, physically, spiritually, and mentally? Why do all successful people in life have coaches? Some have coaches for mechanical, spiritual, and financial needs and in some cases, successful people surround themselves with people who will re-affirm any action that they participate in. Successful individuals ensure their continued progress towards their goals through the use of outside experts. How can a major league ball player expect to perform day in and day out without being fine tuned occasionally by a specialist? All humans fall. Recently, one of the most popular professional athletes publicly announced his problem and reached out for professional help. Had he had a spiritual life coach, he could have perhaps had the strength to stay away from such temptation. It is easier to stay away from temptation than to get out of it! No one walks through life alone if they have Jesus Christ in their life. No one can walk through life empty and not having anyone to count on or reach out to. When the Holy Spirit is the foundation of an individual's life, they are in good hands. Human temptation is around everyone 24/7. Surrounding yourself with the right people is a key element in gaining success here on earth. Mostly all successful people have certain characteristics. They repeat these positive characteristics over and over again. Their inner strength (faith) is the foundation of who they are! As the bible tells us, "if you sow the same seeds, you will reap the same rewards." Success is no accident. In athletics, winning the batting title, the Gold Glove award, or having a MVP season does not just happen. In life, success should be measured by how many individuals you lift up, how many friends you support, and how many strangers you reach out to. Success is not about how much money a person makes! Why do some players rise to the occasion - bottom of the ninth with bases loaded? Why do some people shine in the darkest hour? Why do some players meet the challenges when 30 seconds are left on the clock and the team must score from 30 yards away? Why do some people gain strength through adversity and become stronger? These individuals pick themselves up when knocked down and move in the direction God is leading them! A person's limits or restrictions are usually caused through their belief in themselves. Once an individual has their faith in Jesus Christ and believes their destiny is in God’s hands, there can be no limits or restrictions. Knowing and understanding yourself and seeing yourself as God sees you is the true secret to living a successful life. If you see yourself as a 200 hitter and you're happy when you get two hits out of ten trips to the plate, then you will be satisfied when you're wrong or out eight out of ten times. With that attitude, how far will you go? Where will you be when you're 30, 40, 50 or 80? A spiritual life coach can help you to unleash your potential. Through faith, persistence, and hard work, all things are possible. So, let go of your inner control and allow God to drive your car! Put your hands up in the air, open your mind to what God has planned for you, and get ready for the ride of your life.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      What is a career coach?

If you’re interested in furthering your career and want expert help, a career coach is a smart solution. A career coach is a professional you hire to guide you during a job search or a career transition, or to help you improve and advance in your current position. A career coach analyzes your work situation and learns what your professional goals are. They then create a strategy to help you achieve your targets. Throughout the process they should provide objective feedback and guide you in approaching the process strategically. Here are some of the tools and tasks a career coach may assist you with:

      • Helping you build a strong resume that reflects your work history, potential, and skills
      • Coaching for interviews and strategies for solid answers built around your resume and the target job
      • Defining your career goals
      • Creating a plan for job searching
      • Improving networking strategies and skills
      • Developing strategies for negotiating raises or promotions
      • Assessing why you’re not getting where you want to go
      • Identifying new positions or career opportunities that fit your skills

      Why is career counseling important?

Career counseling can help you discover your career path, help you overcome challenges preventing you from finding happiness in your job, or help you learn more about career opportunities that are available to you. Career counselors are typically counselors who specialize in helping guide people into their best career choices. As professionals, they have typically completed a master’s degree in counseling with a focus on career counseling and bring a nuanced understanding of the emotional blocks that prevent someone from doing what they love or getting ahead in their current position. Here are some of the ways that career counseling can help:

      • Identify your skills and talents and how they correlate to different career paths
      • Educate you about the educational requirements for launching in various careers and what earnings can look like
      • Help you understand the kind of environment you want to work in, and which careers are best suited for that
      • See opportunities to transfer your existing skill set to other career areas
      • Help you identify causes of tension or unhappiness in your current career and how to overcome those difficulties
      • Help you create a game plan for moving forward
      • Provide a safe space for you to understand your feelings about career choices you’re making

How much does it cost to hire a career coach?

A career coach provides one-on-one sessions to help you reach your career goals or overcome any challenges you’re having in your career path. The cost to have career coaching can vary based on factors such as the number of sessions you purchase at one time and the experience and rates of your counselor. Career counselors are typically professionals who have earned at least a master’s degree in their field. Based on their academic background, supplemental certifications they have received, and any postdoctoral work they have done, their rates may vary. Typically career counselors offer reduced rates when you sign on for their services on an ongoing basis. A typical price range for career counseling services (nationally) could be $75-$150 per session. Remember to always ask if the career counselor offers a complimentary introductory session. You want to make sure the relationship will be the right personality and counseling style fit to help launch your confidence and upcoming career changes.

How much does it cost to hire a career coach?

When it’s time to take your career to the next level, it’s time to hire a career coach. The cost to have a career coach help you with your professional journey will vary based on how many sessions you require, the level of coaching you desire, and the rates of the coach as determined by their experience, expertise, education and training. On average, career coaching sessions can range from 60 to 120 minutes, depending on the professional and what your needs are. Career coaches in smaller towns and areas with a lower cost of living will also typically have lower rates than those residing in large metro areas like New York, although most do offer remote coaching. Many coaches also offer a free introductory consultation, which gives you the opportunity to determine if their personality and coaching style are the right fit. It’s helpful to ask the coach about their relevant experience and get references from former clients. Depending on the professional, session rates could range anywhere from under $60 to well over $250 per session. Package discounts are a good way to commit to the relationship as well as get savings on services.

      What is a career counselor?

If you’re feeling lost in your career path, overwhelmed, in need of a job but confused as where to start, or ready for change but uncertain what you want, a career counselor is a good choice for you. A career counselor is typically a licensed professional who has earned a master’s degree in counseling — likely with an emphasis on career counseling. Each state has different licensing requirements for career counselors, so be sure to research before reaching out to a pro.

Due to their academic backgrounds, career counselors often have a more holistic and in-depth approach than a career coach. Career coaches are not regulated by states and also tend to be more business-focused — a good fit for those who know what they want but need help achieving it. On the other hand, a career counselor provides guidance and clarity around some of the more emotional aspects that job hunting and career movement entail. Career counselors meet with you in a series of one-on-one sessions. They assess your personality and learn what drives you. They get a detailed understanding of your work history and your hopes, and often work to help you discover any internal blocks preventing you from going where you want to go. Hiring a career counselor is appropriate at any time in your career, from recent graduate to executive-level management.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
